Jxta Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Hi All, Went and picked up this yesterday: Swapped it for my DC5 as I wanted to scratch the turbo itch before moving out next year! First items on the list are to get it super clean and sort a few bits. Car has a chip in the windscreen, and its an RAC windscreen so going to get that replaced with one from Subaru. Oh, and the rear shocks need done, it wouldn't be right if they didn't lol Car goes into Detailed Desire tomorrow for a proper polish - Detailed Desire
mctwistuk Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Looks good. Welcome to turbo ownership and the maxing out of credit cards Chris
Jxta Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Cheers for the warm welcome lads. First part has been bought tonight... new HID bulb lol
badbaz Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Do you know the rear struts can be stripped and regreased to help the situation?
sti and Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Hello and welcome. I've not seen many hawkeyes in the black. Looks good
Jxta Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Do you know the rear struts can be stripped and regreased to help the situation? Yes. This was done by the previous owner, there fine for now but won't last forever. I'm being persuaded to buy BC coilovers and replace the whole lot instead of just the rear's for OEM again. See what happens once I've attended to a few other bits.
scooby222 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 welcome along, big difference between the teg and the scoob - out of the box in the dry teg handles sweeter but a few fairly simple changes can transform the sti, now lock away your credit cards!

johnmacdonald Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Welcome from a Hertfordshire Hawkeye owner. Strut problems well known, but also watch out for failing auxillary air pump - see separate postings... Otherwise, Hawk has been typically reliable since purchased in 2006 - but, as with others, have spent far too much money on extras!! Just couldn't resist.
