Yep I agree geo should be checked.. But probably wont be done for a coupel of months :( I can setup most of the important areas myself anyway. Each time I've had someone recheck my setting thei've always reported it's spot on. Also I'd notice in driving it if it was wildly out! I;m a litle more concerned about the ARB brackets being in one piece. gonna try get them off and sandblasted down and re-painted just to make sure their clean and solid.

Absolutely no disrepect to progrip :icon_salut: they clearly know they stuff and understand the settings involved. But it's a few hundred mile round trip for me meanign two tanks of fuel so that's £150 just travelling ;) Also laser alignment doesnt mean much IMHO.. It's all down to the operator/mechanic.. The laser aspect is just a quick and easy way of measuring without getting bars and measuring tapes out. If the lasers arent set-up right in the first place it's pointless.. Didn't mean that to sound like a whinge on laser alignment Oops!.. But keep hearing about people go on about how brilliant laser alignment is.. All it does is draw straight lines. Lasers dont set-up the car people do :icon_salut:

For the record.. Will probably take the car along to Bitz Motorsport in nairn once they get their new place set-up.. With laser alignment :brickwall: LOL! But like progrip they understand what they are doing and previously did alignmetn the old fashioned way my measuring and working things out!, also wanting them to give the car a quick check over just to have another pair of eyes check her over this year

Don't forget Clark Motorsport Al, they fitted my stuff and set it up. I've got a nice print out with all the settings on it somewhere.

I can say from having the whiteline kit fitted to mine in Feb, it feels better in the corners and feels like it's on rails (there's virtually no body roll now). Though getting used to it is taking some time as the back end does feel a bit more 'twitchy' if you give it too much right foot in the bends but then it seems to dig in and fire out the other side. Overall i like the set up it's just the 'getting used to the changes' thats taking some time and i've only had the car since November so i've not been driving it for years but the difference is noticable.

Yep! by far the two best scooby places in the north at the moment :icon_salut:

CooL! I like it when a car has just a hint of oversteer. I know it's not considered safe but I feel much more confortable with a car that lets got at the rear first (assuming it doesn't just snap) rather than headign straight on.. Really not a fan of understeer on a car.

Just as well I wont be running in the top group on the fling :driving:

I'll be merrily cruising along in the 'less progressive' group as well.

It hasn't 'snapped' on me yet it's like part way through the corner it goes completely neutral then the back feels like it's going. It porbably isn't I think it could just be pushing through the other side of being balanced. It doesn't feel dangerous it's just not what i'd got used to but i am getting faster through the corners as i get used to it. I don't try to dive the wheels off the car when i take it out anyway so i think it'll be ok.

Clark Motorsport did say drive it for a while and if it's not to my liking take her in and they can adjust it to suit.

No your right bud, a long way just for geo find some one closer never looked at your location lol hope it all works out !! I know John at progrip does a bit more than that I believe Andy F, John Stevenson and some other names use him and actually sets the car up with him in the seat for better calibration I'm sure some one will correct me if I'm wrong so you do get your moneys worth and I wouldn't mind travelling to get the best result...

However these guy are serious competitors and I'm sure the way you will set it up will be good for what you need :)all the best keep us posted how it handles..

Sounds spot on for my liking!:driving:

Did you get a individual price for the alignment set-up? Just curious to know what they would charge. Shouldnt be too much since most of the bolts will be freed off.

Will do! Yeah the places up here have background/experience with Rallying (both SRC and WRC) rather than track use, but still understand how to get the best from a car on the road. Good to hear places taking the time over it and not just doing a 2 minute job! one of these days SIDC will get a good list together of reputable places we reccomend

Just found the itemised bill Al.

Wheel alignment & set up £70

Adjust front + rear camber £33

I do believe that was with the discount from aberdeen Scoobies though! Still i saved more than the membership cost just getting the whiteline kit fitted.

That would be about the ball park I'd expect anywhere between £50 and £100

Still waiting to get access to the lift so I get the bits fitted.. Bloody Rover Cariolet sitting on it at the moment :cussing:

P.s. You wasted your money! SIDC Members get discount there too thanks to ScoobyDoom ;)

haha i wasn't sure if we did or not i was going to swing by and have a word with Euan if we didn't but that saves me a job. Was that where ScoobyDoom got the alignment done at on his and was looking at setting up an open day?

I can't complain really i got a deal from them on the whiteline kit and then a reduced rate on the labour. I'd already joined Aberdeen Scoobs anyway to see if they had anything going on....

Well I have been forced to do two upgrades. First is fitted with a racing clutch as my original wore out at only 47k miles :(.

Now my front brake discs are worn out - looked around and a decent set of discs and pads were going to be around the £400 mark. The gas and electric company owed me £500 and I hope to have sold the front calipers for £200 so I spent the same money out of the bank account and ordered a KSport 8 pot 330mm upgrade.

Next month will be the drop links and anti roll bars with a new geo setup.

Hopefully summer will be fun.

Surely you're not surprised by that if your running 340lb/ft2 on a std clutch?

looks like another set of pads for the front of the car could be on the list.....

Performance Friction/Mintex we'll see. While i'm at it i might as well get some braided hoses fitted to firm things up a touch...
