Dougs Scoob Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Have a Hawkeye Sti 06 and think its time for a new battery. Found the battery dead last week after it not being started in a few weeks. I charged it and took it on a good run but after monitoring the voltage every day its slipping back down. I can buy a Bosch battery from Euro car parts for £67 but was wondering if anyone knows anywhere cheaper? Dougie

scootmuldoon Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hello there, if you go on to www.scoobynet.com homepage, Euro car parts has an ad giving you 25% discount. Just enter there discount code SCBNET25 at the checkout it says. Worth a try.
johns Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Last time I got one from a breakers yard. Think it cost me £15+VAT and came with a 3 month warranty.
Dougs Scoob Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 mate i work in euro gimme a call on monday n ill give u a discount if you want? Big thanks to Chrissy at Euro car parts for supplying me the battery at a reduced rate. Much appreciated. Thanks to Scoot Muldoon for suggesting the scoobynet discount code too. It works btw. Thats the new battery fitted tonight and a wee spin to charge it. Well thats the excuse i gave the mrs! Would anyone know if disconnecting the battery would count as an ecu reset? Reason im asking is I've heard folk on other threads talking about the ecu needing reset after running the car on a lower octane fuel. The car felt more responsive tonight than usual after replacing the battery. It could be me though as it is a big difference driving the scoob after driving the company 1.3 astra diesel about every day!
chrissy Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 no problem atall just keep a hold of your receipt as it has a 3 year warranty
sti pretender Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 No need to reset the ECU, I lent my battery to Welsho for a weekend and the car was fine.
jamesm Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 No need to reset the ECU, I lent my battery to Welsho for a weekend and the car was fine. I changed my battery a couple of weeks ago and it was just a case of connecting it up and away it went. Got it from Euro car parts, but not at a discounted rate
Dougs Scoob Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 No need to reset the ECU, I lent my battery to Welsho for a weekend and the car was fine. No. What I meant to say is - Does the ecu reset when the battery is disconnected? Ano Chris. Sorry, I didn't know if you'd left or not. No doubt I'll be in again for summat else! Brakes soon!
