  1. Hi all, I recently had problems with a flat battery on my 2003 blobeye sti so got a new one which also started playing up. Turned out it I had a faulty alternator which has now been changed. The problem I have now is that my central locking is playing up! Sometimes when I lock it with the key remote the doors lock and the alarm/immobiliser activate as normal. On the odd occasion though the doors will reopen themselves straight away with the alarm/immob still active. Other times though I can lock the car and everything is fine but when I come back to it its sitting unlocked. Sometimes after locking it you can hear a clicking sound as if the central locking is being pressed but the door locks don't move. I tried disconnecting the battery for 10 mins then reconnecting it but still not fixed the problem. Is it possible to do some kind of system reset for the central locking? Could it be a faulty c/l module and if so where exactly is the module? I'm going to strip the 2 front door cards off and have a look but just wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem? Cheers.
  2. True, but im pretty sure i'd whip you!!
  3. Alright guys, just to let you know that i got my 2nd hand alternator fitted today and seems to be working perfect. Voltage reading is now sitting about 14.6v. Thanks to everyone for their help.
  4. I went with SKY Insurance, by far the cheapest for my 2003 STi.
  5. Yeah mate, I got quoted about £200. I'm getting a second hand one coming for £35 so ill give that a go and hopefully that'll fix it as its out of a blobeye sti the same age as mine.
  6. Just a wee update on the alternator, Went back to the shop where i bought the new battery from a few weeks ago and he came out and tested it for me. The voltage on it in the car was reading about 12.61v. He carried out some other test and then told me that the new battery he sold me was saying dud and that it needed replaced. He then gave me a another new battery which i fitted myself and then went to my local garage again and got them to test it. With the car running the new one was reading at 12.60v so basically no difference. They said that its definately the alternator thats goosed!! Managed to find a guy selling a second hand one out of a scrapped car which has done 85k miles with no guarantee for £35 or else a company called West Lancs Auto Electrics says they have one in stock for £105 with 12 months warranty but i need to send my old one back to them. Which is best??
  7. Thanks alot mate, ill get it double checked before splashing out on a new one then.
  8. No mate, i dont usally have them on unless its dark. I read somewhwere else that you should run with the side lights on but never bothered as i usually have have stereo and blower on all the time anyway.
  9. Yeah mate, the voltage reading was about 12.52v Was told it should be about 14/15v??
  10. Hi all, a couple of weeks ago i went out to start my 03 plate blobeye STi. My key fob never opened the doors so i used the key in the lock and when i went to start it my alarm started going off!! I ended up disconecting the battery and got it checked out. I was told that the battery was goosed so bought a new one. Since then i've not had any problems. I went out again today and the car struggled to start so went to my local garage to get it checked out. He said that i need a new alternator as the battery isn't getting a full charge. Where is the best/cheapest place to buy one or does anyone know of anywhere that can recondition my old one?? Cheers.
  11. Hello there, if you go on to www.scoobynet.com homepage, Euro car parts has an ad giving you 25% discount. Just enter there discount code SCBNET25 at the checkout it says. Worth a try.
  12. Thanks for all the replies, I finally made up my mind and went for the Blitz Nur spec R. Does sound and look fantastic especially whilst giving it some oomph!! A little noisy on the motorway but cant have everything i suppose. All i need now is a BOV and i'll be happy.
  13. Hi all, Im looking at buying a turbosmart megasonic bov for my 2003 blobeye STi. Where's the cheapest/best place to buy one? Cheapest i can see so far is about £240.
  14. thanks so far for your ideas, on my old 2003 STi blobeye i had a meercat snakeshead downpipe with a custom mid and rear section (i think) not 100% sure, Sounded great! It had been remapped by Andy Forrest and was running about 340bhp. Has anyone got or ever had a Milltek exhaust on their Impreza? If so - any good?? Cheers.
  15. Looking for other peoples opinions here? I've got a 2003 blobeye STi with full prodrive pack fitted. Im thinking of changing the prodrive exhaust for something else but dont know which to go for!! If i change the exhaust then would the car have to be remapped to suit or is it only if i remove the cats? Cheers.
  16. Thanks alot for all the comments / advice so far.
  17. Hi all, am thinking of buying a BOV for my 03 Impreza STi blobeye. I had a turbosmart supersonic on my last STi a few years back and was thinking about getting the same one again. Is there any better ones out there that you guys would recommend or am i best sticking with the turbosmart supersonic?? Cheers.

  20. Sean, Are you sure you dont want it back????
  21. Yeah, i always drive safely. I never do anything stupid. Its not worth losing your license!
  22. I think my car looks much better! 2003 STi type UK.
  23. I think it just depends on which kind of mood your in, sometimes it annoys me and other times i just show them who's the boss!
