Next week sees the 3rd Aniversary of Colin McRaes death, his son Johnny,Ben Porcelli and Graeme Duncan.

This, along with many other dates of deep meaningfull sadness for me will never be forgotten.

There are many many memories of Colin but the ones that always stick in my mind are as follows.

My feelings for Colin are pretty well documented and i will carry on working to make sure he is not forgotten

Up there with Jim Clark and Stevie Hislop as one of Scotlands finest contributions to global motorsport

Still miss him every day

When I was 17 Colin was in my work getting wheels for a Vito Van, I asked him to sign my old banger Peugeot 106 and he put his arm around me and said, not in a million years would he ruin a perfectly good pen.

RIP Colin as a child you are the reason why cars seem to have taken over my life

It doesn't seem like 3 years.

My lasting memory was the 1995 RAC Rally, standing in Kershope forest. Had been there since first light. The atmosphere was electric. Like nothing I have experienced on a rally before or since. McRae came though giving it some beans but with the wheel hanging off. Most thought the game was over but then word came from the radio car that he was second quickest in the stage, had made repairs on the road section using a log he found lying about and was now continuing in the lead.

A legend, gone, but never forgotton.

For me Grist's comment at the end of this video sums the man up

A true legend, i can remember hearing the news on the radio driving back up from the boarders in the car.

So much respect from every corner of the world for him, truely deserved too.

Never know what to say in moments like this. McRae was a great man and a great driver, and is truly missed.

I remember watching Colin live on TV for the 2006 X Games, and he had me on my feet the last leg. Absolutely stunning drive all the way to the end. A true legend. RIP.
