G.Mac Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-11174855 A couple of knuckles will be getting wrapped Shame as the police on the most part do a good job, just a shame that a few seem to want to give themselves a bad name. Going by the state of the car in the video they must have been going at some speed. Here hopes the residents get their gardens fixed and even though the driver appeared to be drunk lets hope he gets a new car out of it Graeme
Joe G Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 OOPS indeed! Too much power for a novice driver me thinks!! Hope the guy gets a new car out of it, thats the first thing id be looking for drunk or not drunk!
nightmare Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 there was probarbly a better chance of the drunk guy making it home safe than those 2 twats that crashed his car

StewartyBoy Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 OHHHHhhhh dear. Cops are having a **** time of it just now without this type of exposure. On the flip side, I would've kicked the a*** out of it too...
scouk Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 StewartyBoy said: On the flip side, I would've kicked the a*** out of it too... Perhaps but it's was clearly unsutable to be driving at the sorts of speeds required in a built up area I know it probably wont happen but the officers should loose their jobs IMHO and the drive have a few extra points added to his licence.. Hardly a suitable way for the law enforcers to promote road safety!
StewartyBoy Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Your totally right, but lets be honest we all like to take the moral high-ground but when it comes down to it, coppers are only human too and are going to make daft decisions. I'm not defending the total numpties completely for rolling it and ruining someones posh garden, if I did that to my VAN at work I would get the bullet as should these two!
thebigfelly Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 yeah probably get off with it or hide it under the rug, surely theres some twist that it would come under theft or something like that , as they have taken the car without permisions and rideing around in it , diferent if they were going back to the station with the car, but to just take it and p1$$ about in it because they fancy a shot is a different matter police or no police - According to current legislation, a driver is guilty of dangerous driving in one of two ways. Firstly, the way he or she drives falls far below what would be expected of a competent and careful driver, and secondly it would be obvious to a competent and careful driver that driving in that way would be dangerous. There are two forms of the careless and inconsiderate driving offences: •Driving without due care and attention, ie the motorist did not show the proper care and attention of a reasonable, competent and prudent driver; •And driving without reasonable consideration for other road users. For dangerous driving, the maximum prison term a court is allowed to prescribe is two years, while it can hand out an unlimited fine, a disqualification and penalty points. For careless and inconsiderate driving there is a £2,500 maximum fine (the government currently wants to raise this to £5,000). Disqualification is at the court's discretion and it can impose penalty points. surely this should happen to the two police officers or atleast the one that was driving , but then it will be a case of the law is optional depending on who you are, like lysnda lohan on the drugs offenses , or pete docherty , only he could get knicked in court for drugs and get of wi it, or reduced jail terms or get their sentences halved, because their famous , i hate that its double standards , if it was me it wldnt be special treatment , the stars /rich and famous get put in with everbody else and serve the time , police who break the law should get the same , not just a simple suspension ... neway rant over .... as stated it was only an evo
HairyDJ Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 not a smart move with budget cuts needing reductions in staff the ironic bit will be if the scrote gets a brand new car and then a year's ban for drunk driving
mystery machine Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 "We have not been able to get out of our house. The road's been closed - I had to walk the kids to school." That really puts into perspective the gravity of this tragedy.
lewisscoob Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 He'll have some fun claiming off his insurance..."Your car was stolen and crashed by who?" Hope for the drivers sake that his insurance is all up to scratch and covers all mods if any.
brianm Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 It will be an interesting day in the courtroom. Suspect: - Judge, I put it to you, that I could drive the car MUCH safer and more responsibly DRUNK than the police could SOBER!
