C_WRX Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Not for me, but a friend, is looking to have his alloy wheels refurb'ed. Standard car/wheels that are used generally to bounce off the kerb to assist when parking along with some current flaking so need stripped and redone. Looking for recommendations in ideally South Lanarkshire. I know folk on here have used Chameleon Colour Coatings in Renfrew which is a bit of a trek but if they are well worth it in peoples opinion then I will pass on their details.
badbaz Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) Mine were done at Forth, you've seen them Colin, £150 for four 17" Linky Edited June 4, 2010 by badbaz
gus the bus Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) Mine were done at Forth, you've seen them Colin, £150 for four 17"Linky Did they do a decent enough job Baz? noticed them the last time I was on the Rd from Forth to Biggar. The guy I've used in the past (Williams Powdercoating) in Falkirk isnt doing wheels anymore!!!! Edited June 4, 2010 by Gus the Bus
badbaz Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Is anything ever perfect Gus? I'd say the job on mine was 95% or a little more. Happy enough with mine and the service was fine too. Close to me obviously so that is in their favour.
flat4phil Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 How about this chap, very well equipped with UV oven etc.: Colin from Glentyan Alloys. Based just outside Paisley I can refurb alloy wheels in any colour in either powder or wet paint. Can also repair Buckles and Weld cracks as well as a service providing Diamond Cutting and Wheel Polishing. 01505 331313 07748 169473Glentyan Alloys Unit 4 Napier Street Linwood

kennyuk300 Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Colin got this from Arch, not used them though but i guess they are good.. Unit 1/Main St Business Centre/Main St Coatbridge ML53RS 01236 440 411 They are just past the fire station Kenny
Badgerboy Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Have to agree with Barry on this one. The guy on the Forth road provides a pretty good service and only took a couple of days to sort mine out. Id give him 95% also. Not so much with the powder coating, more with the prep side of things. Mind you, my alloys were in some state beforehand! Andy

arch Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Colin got this from Arch, not used them though but i guess they are good..Unit 1/Main St Business Centre/Main St Coatbridge ML53RS 01236 440 411 They are just past the fire station Kenny I used Alloy finsihing at the address Kenny has given but that was to straighten two badly buckled wheels, they done a superb job of that but cant comment on there wheel coating but would think the attention to detail they had when fixing the two rota's that they would do a good job. I have also had a fair amount of parts, not wheels, powder coated at Chameleon and the job has always been very good. To be hosest i think it depends where you stay and how much you want to pay/travel.
jamesm Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Could always bring them to me at auto image Is it yourself that has the silver wagon? You did my Gold STI7 alloys a couple of months back.
