Recommended Posts

Just like to say a big thanks to Dave & Al for all their efforts this weekend and everyone that came along, we had an absolute ball as usual, great roads, great banter, fantastic scenery even if most of it was a blur

Even managed a magnificent 27.9 mpg on the way up to Inverness then it was into thirsty mode lol covered a grand total of 637 miles

my pics are on Tommos thread.

what a way to start the summer season

an amazing weekend with fabulous company, excellent roads, perfect weather (only had 3 rain showers and a hail shower) and quiet roads.

Many thanks to Dave and Al for organising this weekend, I think it improved on last year's Skye run.

The hotel was excellent, facilities were great, food was brill and the bed was comfy.

Well done Dave for getting us such a good group rate, I told the woman at checkout that they'll probably get some repeat visitors from our group.

That Applecross road is crazy, though I can't believe how narrow the road got, plus with no barriers, the steep drop down the rocky mountain seemed too close at some points.

From what I saw, the quality of driving was great and I think we got nods, thumbs up and co-operation from other road users.

Very happy with the event, don't think many would disagree if we used the roads + format again for next year.

Best weekend i have had behind the wheel in any vehicle in a very long time

Gratitude to Dave and al for the sterling preperation work that went into making a fantastic weekend even more fantastic

Molly also thanks you, EEEEEE OOOOOOOO

Got to be same again next year

Managed to capture about 30 gig of footage so will sift through the literally hours of stuff over the next day or 2 and take it from there.

Banana never missed a beat all weekend and it answered every question it was asked with a very positive answer. She still goes well on the 95 ron map and at one point i had to switch the boost controller off on the Applecross rd as 1.4bar is way to much for a road like that

Great to meet some old faces and some new ones too

A great weekend, great roads and some stunning (although barren) scenery.

Here's the moment when Grant was adopted by a donkey called Molly(sp?) - it's a wee shame - for the donkey!

Yeah - it was a great weekend, hats off to Dave and Al for the route and the arrangments for the meal, SSSOOO much easier thean last time?! Good to meet the familiar and not so familiar faces too.

To be honest i've been thinking of seling my scoob for a while; I thought I was getting bored of 4WD ;) - the car getting a bash in Winter made me decide to sort it and keep it a while longer.

Me :-

But on the road to Applecross and the drive North of Poolewe it all made sense again, then it started raining and it made perfect sense. There's no other car I would rather driven, and not much else as capable and fun in those roads and weather condtions.

I think i'll keep it for a while yet! :D

I might have guessed Rich would have a beer in his hand ;)

Man can never get lost, man has just not found where he is going yet.

Going the wrong route was part of our plan to get to the bar first :D

BRILLIANT weekend, thanks to everyone who made it happen.

Dave/Al - Applecross for the next Inverness/Moray run lol?????

Woke up this morngin with a sore neck on the left hand side! Totally worth it though! I guess those toyo's are really doign their job and keepign the car stuck to the road on the long swooping bends :P

Thanks everyone! clapping.gif HOpefully wee can keep the numbers growing for next year :rotfl:
