Mine was a 1982 X reg Ford Escort 1.3L in Sunburst Red (how sad I still remember the name) :brickwall:

Cost me £1500

I bought it because it was a 3 door and at 18 looks were everything (what am i on about I'm now 39 and they still are).

I sold it to the scrap man after I blew up 2 engines in 3 years - and yes guys I DID put oil in it!

Oh yes and as with all my cars she did have a name - this one was called "Rebel" :P

Wow Goblin!

I also had a '82 Ford Escort - it was supposed to be red, but had got dull with age and some nice person put glue all over the roof!

Got the motor in 1991 - 4 speed box - 4 door - cost me 900 notes - did 105 mph lol!

Sold it in 1993 for 500 notes :P:brickwall:

Then went onto a 309 Sri :brickwall::censored:

Ah Matty, my little girl was gorgeous, I'll see if I can find some pics of her later and post them up (as long as there's some without me in them with my dodgy 1980's perm lol).

lovely little faded green Austin A35 for 40 quid - lasted a year, but was running bad at the end, 20 odd mpg on 5 star and 200 odd on oil :P

then A40 for £65 - off to halfords for a can of matt black paint for the bonnet & I thought I was the dogs.

Retired that for a brand new vauxhall magnum 1800 on an N plate for a massive £1450.

god I'm old .........

my first car was a given Renault 5. It was my dads. This was wrecked after a minor collision with some steel steps going up a wall (Steve JD.... Vale Castle ring any bells???)

My first own car(s) were a Mk1 Ford Fiesta 957 and a Citroen Visa.

I raced the Fiesta down the beach banger racing, rolled it and destroyed it.

The Visa met a grizzly end..... was made shorter by another car and then torched.

Mine was a (very rare) Skoda Rapide 135 ric 1.3 single point fuel injection.

I payed £200 for her, she was 8 years old at the time and never really went wrong.

She had all the optional extras you would find on top of the range car in the early 90s, yes including the heated windscreen lol

Cheers Iain

If you still had that now, you could have got a good price for it.

For keeping your hands warm when you pushed it?

Sorry, I know you saw that coming but someone had to say it! It's the law! :P

Mk1 Golf Convertible (Clipper kit) in black. Cost me £2400, I had it before I passed my test, then within two months, some twot t-boned me and wroote it off. Insurance company paid out £3700 though.

toyota corolla xb 3 door hatch , 1.6 as dnf 972 y , it was christened did not finish yet , just before i rolled it on a back road , cost me a broken motorbike which i had crashed 3 months before , straight swap , i thought it was a good deal .

the only injury i suffered was the radio aerial in my eye when i tried to open the bonnet from the side whilst the front was buried in a hedge and wouldnt start.

found out later the battery terminal had snapped off hence the not starting . had to phone the feds to come and move it as it closed the road between 2 sharp bends and someone might have hit it

good car though had a kettle and a fridge in it and a cb
