Rheid Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Looking to have a pair of front seats redone in half leather / half alcantara or maybe full leather. Any recommendations? Thanks, Neil
peacher Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Hi, I would give Gary at Trimline Systems a call. He recently did a great job of fixing the driver's seat on my Jetta and is hopefully going to repair the leather seat on my WRX SL soon. Am sure they do full retrims as well and can try and dig out his number if you are interested (think he is based in Livingston)? Cheers, Peter

killbill Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 what kind of money is in a re-trim for 2 fronts ?
Rheid Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 Many thanks for all the suggestions guys. Spoken to a few places today and I'll phone W.Ramsay in Loanhead tomorrow. Should also be getting a call back from Transcal tomorrow. So far I'm getting quotes of around £400 per seat - does that sound about right? Cheers, Neil

Rheid Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 Well, after taking a run out to see Transcal yesterday, they're who I'll be going with if I decide to go through with it. Very impressive operation and the examples of workmanship I was shown were superb. I also had no idea before going there that they are the OEM leather trimmers for a wide variety of manufacturers, for example if you order a new Mitsubishi with leather option, it arrives in the UK standard and then gets retrimmed in leather by Transcal. Another plus point is they use special "approved" thread for the seat airbag area which is then barcoded for traceability should there be any legal or insurance issues following airbag deployment. As I said, all very impressive! I didn't get an exact price as they would need to see the seats I want re-trimmed (which I haven't taken delivery of yet) but going by their "book price" it will be competative at worst. Thanks again for all you suggestions, it's been a big help. Cheers, Neil
