Cheers Colin... familliar build indeed  thats why i have went down this avenue it works...

Roll on March did you get the gear box sorted mate ..

Yes mate - gearbox is fixed. It was a simple job in the end but I had a mare getting hold of the right part. For the record it sheared the output shaft to the prop. Not bad going considering that I had the diff fully locked to send as much power to the front as possible.

The part has been replaced and I have completed an exhaustive test run of 2 feet back and 2 feet forward. I need to have a proper shakedown and get moving on the other niggles before it's ready to start chasing 10's.

Chris...did you go for AVCS or Dual AVCS head for your new set up on your Classic.

It will be the chosen route

No Peter not doing any of the above, staying with the heads and cams iv'e got been told there more than ample for the job, also means alot of more engine work and just wont have the time to get it all done ...for March as i am pushing the boundries as it is...

What gearbox? JDM 6 speed?

and if you dont mind me asking... where did you source the EJ22 block, and how much was it (just the block)

Im sticking with PPG mate alot the big builds still use it and for what i will be running is ample if it breaks then may go 6 speed... Blocked sourced from Laterlal Performance price 1500 quid just the block...

I'm planning to be there alright. Don't think the gtr boys will be pleased to see me after the last time though.

BTW Chris - 2.1 bar is an awful lot of boost on the turbo's you've mentioned. It'll do it but I'd be worried about lifting the heads and long (or short) term reliability. Have you chosen to run a low compression ratio?

Nice set up Chris sounds like a reliable way to get the big power

I am well happy with mine after the rebuild by Steve, still running in but runs perfect. 450miles done not long now

Yes Stevie will probally have to run mines in again for me the joys, the good thing is i only get to drive it on full boost  when i come home he he good luck with your Paul then get that final remap and crank up some boost.

What spec do you have now Paul? What turbo did you go for?

I went for his special set up with the 2.0 bottom end with 2.5 Nitrile crank, 2.5 eagle rods, 2.125 oversized pistons, the usual race spec bearings and arp bolts. He also spent 10hrs on the heads giving them some free flowingness. I have GT spec headers and a 3" from turbo back exhaust, larger top mount intercooler, 550cc injectors and a TD05 18G just now but i am looking at doing the MD321 route. Will settle engine in first and then add a nice FMIC with reversed intake manifold.

If i end up with 450/450 i will be happy but my Hyper single won't take it or the gearbox. One step at a time

On the hunt for a new turbo.... :)

SW spoke to all in depth yesterday to Owen developments, Scooby Clinic, Turbo dynamics explaing the cars set up and what im looking to achive power wise and out of them my choice may be a Owen development Turbo, GT35- 86, as discussing with Stevie, this turbo seems to be the best option for my set up, the 86 is the size of the wheel so will spool quicker.. i think the normal size is 76 for the wheel i may be wrong. the turbo comes with the billet fan which everyones talking about just now... however Scooy Clinic has something new in so is on hold to find out more info..March just cant come quick enough... im home in 3 weeks ...Also spoke to Mark at Lateral Performance and everything is still on track fingers crossed..

GT35-86 is a good option Chris, I ran with a 35/42 a few years back and its currently on John S's T/A car.

I would be interested in trying S/clinics billet 35 though, based on the billet 30 results !

Garrett should also have the smaller versions of their 11 blade GTX-R forged billet wheels around soon too.

On decent fuel you should see full boost by 4000rpm.

I also have a fully mappable progressive N2O programme available for the Simtek as developed on my race car a few years back.

Steve has been in touch re mapping, so no probs there :)

Andy.
