zeolite
Quite a clean looking motor Billy. Still got the crappy brake servo on it as well Are those seats original. I can't remember seeing leather in a RS before? I really don't like those wheels though so sell them and get some minilights or RS alloys. So what about the bits we can't see? engine, diff shocks etc? Link to comment
Phil MC
Cracking clean car you got there. I'm liking the front seat headrests with the mesh in them . They remind me of my Dad's mate who used to take us out for a blast in his shiny new Capri many years ago!! Link to comment
Big Gordon
Lovely car Billy Did you have it at Kames at the SOSE day when Jimmy and Alastair McRae were there recently? Think i've got some pics of it. I like the cossie alloys on it BTW Link to comment
billyboy
Thanks for comments guys I didnt have it at Kames it was the previous owner. I dont like the cossie wheels there coming off to be replaced with 13" superlites. Also will be fitting four driving lamps at front. Its ok to drive not as slow as you might think,no p/s,no airbags,no esp and still runs points and condenser. Link to comment

World cup crossmember,5sp gearbox, standard rear axle with lowering blocks, bilstein shocks and unknown front coils.Interior has been retrimmed in black leather.I also plan to get rid of the rs wheel for a proper 3 spoke item.So if you know anybody who's got one?? The wheels almost put me off buying the car and will be replaced with superlites. Link to comment
cullenmin
Stunning, I'd love to own one of these Rich Link to comment
sczscoob
Very nice, got a soft spot for classic Fords. Look nice with minilites Link to comment
thefastone
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of minilites too... Looks an absolute stunner there Billy! Link to comment
johnnyr6
Thats a stunning flat nose m8. I quite like the cossie rims but mini lights would suit it. I would love to get my hands on a 72 mk1 mexico but at the mo it's just a pipe dream. Johnny Link to comment
zeolite
superlites look good are are very light but because they have a higher magnesium content they are very prone to corrosion esp if you kerb them. I would get minilites on a road car bur that is just me. I take it those cossie wheels are 15s? Are you going to go back to 13s? I would get 13s in a higher profile just to give you that extreme chuckability but it depends on the miles you do with it I suppose. I take it it has an unleaded head? IMHO essential mods would be 4 pot brakes (can get the princess or cossie stuff fairly reasonably) You can get rid of that stupid servo then and electronic ignition. The rear handbrake linkage is also a pain as it seizes up during the winter. I remember modifying something off a volvo at one point. lol I would also suggest some security because those 70s Fords are sooo easy to get in and I can hot wire one in 45 secs. I am surprised that a road car has a WCXM as it does make the ride very harsh. It also make things like changing a starter motor or clutch cable a real pain. I wouldn't have one on a road car as I am not sure what benefit it gives you for road driving. On my rally car we had some serious strengthening done to the chassis to fit the wcxm as the captive nuts in the chassis rails just rust away. Another thought I have had is the rear diff. If you really want to go sideways a lsd is the biz but is not really a thing for the road. I take it is a standard 3.54 diff. It is easy to get lower diffs for better acceleration. The standard escort was 4.44. Link to comment
