Thinking about it... But the Scoobs off the road at hte mo.. Hopefully get it sorted in the next day or two.. Just need to be certain that one of the wheels doesn't fall off...

Probably wont make a decision until the weekend...

if McRae can drive with 3 wheels, why cant you ?

PMSL! tempted, been weeks since I've been able to give get out ofr a decent drive!

What's up with the car Al ?

Initially dodgy wheel bearing flagged up at MOT couple months back. Decided to look into it, so stripped all the rear hub off popped the bearing and it looked in pretty good condition.. But the backplate to the hub was a mess and annoyingly while knockign the bearing out the ABS ring split! (seems those things are a little brittle)

After a wee bit of head scratchign noticed that the thread on the nut on the end of the driveshaft was slightly damaged which appears to have stopped it being tightered properly  Did seem a bit too easy to take off, which could be what was resposnible for the wobbly wheel effect rather than the bearing..

So was trying to get a whole new Hub but no joy at short notice, so now resorted to trying to stick it all back together in the hope it will go back together properly with the origonal bearing.. Got a new backplate made up and stuck on, stuck the ABS ring backtogether with some industrial strength metal glue ;) and lined up properly. Hopefully it'll be roadworthy by the end of the week, still nearvous that the ABS ring might give way while in use depite there being little or no physical load on it. Still want to find a decent replacement at somepoint..

Yeah.. few bits of classics goign around but not for newages.. Although classic hub woudl fit woudl require extra specers/adapters and would prefer to get the right part... I'll keep my eyes open though...

I'll be there as well keeping Pete company on the stand

 I take it the SIDC stand aint goign to happen then ;)

I'm out anyway... Rear brake pads are completly foo-barred! To the point that the pads have seperated from the backing

Good excuse for an Disc/Pad upgrade, I feel some grooved discs and some DS2500 pads may be goign on  But probably have to wait till next month :D:D:lol:

. o O (May partially explain why I always feel the brakes on my car are next to useless when on a spirited drive...)
