mctwistuk Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 i have found some wet patches in my boot on the right hand side betwwen the flap for the intercooler spray bottle and the back seat. has anyone experienced this or has any possible causes for me to look at. cheers chris
Spaceman Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 heard of the pipe popping off the ic bottle in boot spray your ic and see if water comes thro if not bingo prob need a hand for that
mctwistuk Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 cheers greig. the water is on the outside of the grey interior panels so think it is more likely coming from boot seal or spoiler holes. With the back seats not easily removed i was wondering if abyone had a similar issue and what had caused it. Guess i will need to figure out how to take the back seat panel off then get the hose out and see if i can find the leak. Chris your car was looking good on sunday
st3ph3n Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Spoiler holes I'd guess. I had it on my car after fitting the carbon wing. Ended up using some rubber washers to seal it up and never had a problem since.
stubaroo Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I've had the same problem too, after fitting new spoiler. Fixed as said above with rubber washers. To find which hole it is coming from, simply stuff some rolled up kitchen roll into each hole and next time it rains or you wash the car it will be pretty clear if there is a leak coming through the boot lid.
bigal024 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I had the same problem with my first scoob a 51 plate Bugeye WRX. Turned out to be the spoiler holes.
murtayamartin Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 i had similar and turned out to be the rubber seal around boot martin
davey l wrx Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Had it on my blobeye since i got 6 months ago. The spare wheel well was like a swimming pool when i got it home. I seales the bolts and holes for the spoiler with clear bathroom sealant from B&Q. Only cost a couple of quid and does the job. Didn't have to mess about taking the spoiler bolts out either they just live in a bubble of rubber.
