gc8-r Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 sjs design.............they do most drift, time attack and show cars and do from little to full car wraps check them out
scoobykev Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Very personal choice mate, you'll get plenty folk on here that hate them and a fair few that love them. I put a full rally set on my classic last year and think they look great. Search for pics of your style of car and then decide whether you'll like kids hanging out of car windows to see you passing by
colzo Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 A GB270 is a Special Edition - keep it special, leave the decals off.
gordi82 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Don't put decals on a GB270. You will de-value it never change a limited edition. There is a garage down south who have a demo fully decaled up. Hylton of Shrewsbury have it in stock and there is photos.
thewelsho Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 A GB270 is a Special Edition - keep it special, leave the decals off. I think decals are a great way to individualise your car, hence the reason why I have them. However, Colin's right when it comes to Special Edition cars, leave it man, or if you really must, then add some make some real small and subtle editions, maybe around a GB270 theme.
scouk Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 A GB270 is a Special Edition - keep it special, leave the decals off. If it was a standard WRX or STi then yeah it can look nice if done properly.. personal choice as to what to go for.. I like seeing the odd car stickered up.. But on a special edition.. I wouldn't...
G-ManUK Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 personal taste I think.. I've not got any decals on my GB270 but then I've not modded it at all. Can see why you would want decals if you've modded it as you would want it to stand out more as well and be a bit special...

Rice Rocket Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Makes no difference if its a limited edition or not, they can come off as easy as they went on! I for one like decals, but not the Rally ones, like what Welsho says, it makes your car different from the rest! Ricey
jimmymc1 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 i could be tempted by decals aswell . i remember how good rallye6's uk300 looked with full kit on!
big den Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I fitted the full rally graphics to my Hawkeye STi when I got it just under 2 years ago. I wasn't sure if I would like them once fitted or how long I would keep them on but...... ...they are still on the car. I sourced the kit via fleabay and fitted them myself over a weekend - worked for me!! I appreciate that graphics are not to everyone's taste but it's your choice - as said you can take them off easily enough. Den
x444wrx Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Dont ruin your special edition mate. it is an induvidual choice i put them on my car and thught they looked great to start with but quickly went off them as they were too much so im sticking to all my carbon fibre bits instead.......but seriously dont mess with a limited ed i think you'll regret it if you do!!
x444wrx Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 ps you wouldny believe how easy they come off if you dont like them! 10 mins with the wifes hair dryer!!!
thewelsho Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 ps you wouldny believe how easy they come off if you dont like them! 10 mins with the wifes hair dryer!!! Well you can't on the one hand say that he will regret it and on the other hand say they come off easily. The only thing that gets wasted is money, not the car. I already said that I don't think that I'd plaster a Spec Ed with graphics, however, what if was a unique self-designed GB 270 scheme? That way you get your graphics AND your Spec Ed retains its identity.
tamkgb270 Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 orderd a few GB270 graphics today for the front windscreen and a couple of the GB270 logos for the back windows
thewelsho Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 orderd a few GB270 graphics today for the front windscreen and a couple of the GB270 logos for the back windows Get the pics up when they're fitted dude!
thefastone Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Whilst I agreee wholeheartedly that special editions should stay unmolested, can you really call the GB270 a special edition? to be honest, it was probably the ****test special edition there was... Personaly I think that they only took them out as a special edition to clear the stock out... although I did love the wagons, they were completely different to the saloons... that just made no sense...
scouk Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) can you really call the GB270 a special edition? to be honest, it was probably the ****test special edition there was... Personaly I think that they only took them out as a special edition to clear the stock out... although I did love the wagons, they were completely different to the saloons... that just made no sense... I'd say yes it is a proper special edition .. And probably better than most of the previous ones.. Early days of classics there wasn't always the performance boost, but rather just styling mods.. The later ones e.g. RB5 was basically a standard impreza Turbo with all the prodrive goodies on it some with the option of havign the old PPP upgrade! That's what the GB270 is and with the latest 2.5l and updated PPP it's potentially one of the quickest and most drivable ones to date!.. It's a WRX with all the prodrive bits on it.. Worthy of a special edition. admitedly the 22B was effectively more special and the P1 was more or less an STi with prodrive bits, as is the RB320. But yes your right that the GB270 was used to sell stock.. They held back the number of blue saloons specifically for creating GB270's.. But then maybe that's been done for all specials.. I'd like to get the figures for how many Red Mica Impreza's were made.. It's widely known that black Impreza's are "apparently" rare because they only mande a limited number of them.. But surely Red Mica is more exclusive? the colour was only used for 3 years I think it was... Our own little private special edition Edited March 27, 2009 by ScoUK
