Went To Port Seton Today!

Went to see AndyF this afternoon so he could work his magic on the RB5.

Car has just had the bottom end rebuilt so wanted to make sure the car was running as sweet as could be – don’t fancy that expense again!

All went really well, with no major problems, except trying to pay by card.

I’ve attached the dyno Andy supplied which I am delighted with.

Certainly a starting point to go on from.

276 bhp and 309 lb/ft torque.

Thanks again AndyF

Thats what I like to hear - not too many miles from me at Carfraemill!!!

Cheers Fella

Can’t recommend it enough Gary, the difference is unbelievable, everything is now silky smooth through the full rev range!

Good luck finding Andy’s garage, it’s right at the harbour and there is no name on the garage, and as I found out there’s 2 harbours!

Find the Bene’s Fish and Chips and your nearly there.

He did say he wasn’t too busy in January.

Thanks for all comments,

Derek

Derek was it just an engine rebuild? i.e. no other mods,is the RB5 a UK STi with the PPP fitted as standard?.I'm not too clued up on the different engine specs, lol.

the only thing that beats the drive to port seaton is the drive back B)

it is difficult to find his place but look on the positive side you will find it alot easier the next time

Just went for the 2.0ltr rebuild in the end due to funds, or the lack of them, more to the point.

The car has an uprated fuel pump, 3" ScoobySport exhaust and Meercat backbox, STi 6 speed box and clutch and now with some of the AndyF knowledge inside.

Happy days!!

Good figures bud. Not normal for the EJ20 to have more torque than HP. By the look of your graph thought you might have dropped a EJ25 bottom end in.

Enjoy the car!!!!

Nice one. Was just thinking that the torque is pretty high. Enjoy it!

I've always been a bit indifferent about this, the drive there and the drive back have always been similar, car feels much the same, economy similar etc.

Couldn’t quite work out when Cockenzie became Port Seton or Port Seton became Cockenzie or which one is the posh one!

When are you hoping to get yours done?

LOL.. Your not the first and you won't be the last

Steve's going to pick the car up this weekend and get everything ready and then I'll contact Andy.

I should have really booked a date earlier but I wasn't sure of the time scales etc and didn't want to cancel anything last minute. I'll just need to hope he can fit me in soon after or pray for a cancelation . Either way, there's no hurry and thankfully i'm just doon the road.

Thats an excellent torque figure there Derek. As i started reading this thread I thought it was a 2.5 bottom end that you had dropped in to achieve this.

Well done & happy motoring
