Rednosespeccltd Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 Have just spoken to Duncan @Hypertech and he has quoted £132 Fully fitted. still cheaper than the garage althought i would prob use more petrol . Sounds like a really nice guy though and possibly get some 4 whell alignment at the same time. Mac
craigdmcd Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Can't really say a bad word about Duncan, definately knows his stuff, and does all wiring to a proper standard (as should everybody). Just unfortunate that he is still £60 dearer, but the man has overheads to pay. He does do a fabulous job on the Geometry settings though.
Rednosespeccltd Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 Have you asked Greersport Mac? No mate, I use them for servicing etc and have no problems with their service etc, My next service(30,000 +MOT) is not till March 2009 and would get them to do all that at the same time but its in the middle of nowhere and to just leave it there and go into Bieth ,Dalry etc is not worth it as i originally come from the area and know what its like, lol They will still get my service etc but for this it is ATM a no-goer, logistically is not goog TBH. Wil prob go to the "Garage" or Hypertech, got some leave in a couple of weeks and will prob make a day of it, is hypertech near the town centre and has Falkirk and good shops(never been, lol)?? dont want to drag the missus and wee man(7 months) all the way there for nothing when i could have stayed in Motherwell and got it done there. Sorry for the long post ,hopefully you know what i mean. Mac

I usually end up standing around and asking Dunc silly questions while he works on my car. I can't recommend him enough, he really knows his stuff and is really helpfull too.

stuarted Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Hopefully getting to stuarted's later this week, then I should know exactly what I'm doing. Paisley is always better as I have a full workshop at my disposal. You never know when you will need burning gear and a large grinder when fitting defi's Should I be concerned here!?!?! I'm sure it will go swimmingly well!
craigdmcd Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Right Stuart, time for yours now. Fitted the Welsho's Defi's today, and all in all I'm quite happy with the result (hope John is as happy ). Had a little indisrection with the connector that is at the back of the controller for the fuel pressure (I know I wasn't using it - so it did no harm to the unit). Used the sandwich plate, and turned all the wires in to a loom section. Looked and worked fantastically, just needs John to get the alarm settings right. Sat the controller in the single din cubby unit under the stereo. Hope John posts up some pics soon. Also hope he keeps an eye on the oil level from now on. Craig

Lovin' the DEFIs dunno why I choose the cheaper option in the first place. Also Craig, fitting gauges to other cars will be much quicker than fitting mine because much of the time was spent taking the old ones out. So I got old ones out - new ones fitted all for the same price - top bloke and good aftercare comms as well - Highly Recommended!
