kaylz_555 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Hi folks, Looking for any info on which dump valve is the best to suit my budget? For a new age MY03. I've got roughly £130 and I need to buy it before the 3rd of Nov! Cheers! Kaylz_555
scoobymark Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 (edited) HKS SSQV all the way, for your budget you will get a good second hand one, put a wanted post up on scoobynet and you will be sure to get your hands on one. They usually go for 100 - 120 quid second hand http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HKS-SSQV-DUMP-VALVE-...id=p3286.c0.m14 mark Edited October 16, 2008 by scoobymark
scoobymark Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 (edited) here's a perrin one as new for under 100 quid not sure what they sound like? http://bbs.scoobynet.com/private-sale-gene...dump-valve.html or GFB http://bbs.scoobynet.com/private-sale-gene...ewage-bits.html mark Edited October 16, 2008 by scoobymark
kaylz_555 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 ill have a look mate, cheers. It's got to sound like "a specific sound" lol ...but trying to explain that through typing wouldn't work! "FFFFchsshhhhhhh"??? - any use? Although in saying that have you heard the duck sounding bov attatchments?! That might be a better present for his birthday as he drives to work in it - i don't (yes darling I've fitted a great sounding dump valve) cheers anyway bud ill take a peek!

fai17 Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 stick to a good forge re dump....keep it simple and no funny noises unless it was meant to be there
stuarted Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 stick to a good forge re dump....keep it simple and no funny noises unless it was meant to be there Agreed, forge re circ - very efficient. Better having good function than noise
fai17 Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Forge for me too We must be getting old Frank.......But the forge is good enough for my 550bhp beast.
Carson Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Am sure squiggle will have something to say about this dont use your money just yet put it that way chris
kaylz_555 Posted October 18, 2008 Author Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) thanks guys, I'll have a look at these and see what's most affordable and the best option. " Valve vents to atmosphere/ re-circulating pipe work must be removed, Bung not included." ...err Yeah :S ....anyone explain further please? How about the Bailey one that Scoobyworld are selling? Kaylz Edited October 18, 2008 by kaylz_555
buffalo Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) i have the HKS one, i love it. different whoosh an fpmshh differnt speeds etc. i got mine off ebay brand new for around 150 i think. its very simple to fit however i had to turn an aluminum 'bung' in work for the big pipe i think attaches to the turbo. (someone will probably help explain for me the correct term) the kit did not come with one but i am sure you could purchse them on ebay for a couple a quid. if you do not use a bung i believe it affects performance and your dash to light up. thefastone Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 AS a few guys have said, getting a re-circ valve is probably best... theres a thread from a wee while ago that had a lot of very good information on dump valves and what they can do to your engine... If you do a search, you should be able to find it...
scouk Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 THis thread was pretty useful for me.. Just to clear up my dodgy understanding.. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtop...p;#entry1206277 I'm personally swaying towards a TurboSmart dual port BOV so I get the recirculating part and the VTA part.. Could be handy after being mapped for 19.5psi But the £200+ price tag for the Turbosmart is a bit steep. The Forge one woudl probably do me but no noise..
