mctwistuk Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 (edited) does anyone have any tips on how to remove the clock and holder from a hawkeye? This is just a hypothetical question honestly (I don't have a set of defi gauges ready to fit in the space created honestly). cheers chris Why do these not come as standard i ask you????????? and a wee pic of my car. st3ph3n Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 In the 05 it was a case of taking out the fascia round the stereo to get in underneath it to then pop it out. I think the interior is the same. There used to be a good thread somewhere about taking the 05 interior apart. It all starts at the gear stick surround - unclip that towards the rear of the car and then it starts to expose all sorts of wonderful screws!
mctwistuk Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 just use force or should i try using a knife to help push the clips?
karps Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 just a wee bit of force. dont use anything to pry it up cos u will mark the dash. get your fingers under the edge and pull
colzo Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Pull up from the top of the clock and it will pop out no probs. No need to take your centre console apart at all. As said don't prise up with a screwdriver or knife as the plastic will mark.
