ScottyRB320 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Looking for recommendations for professional car detailing companies, in and around Stirling but happy to travel a bit further for a good job to be done. Wanting to get the RB320 looking like new again. Gav and the guys at Ian Grieves have done an excellent job in getting the obvious stuff done but i wanted to take things one stage further. Looking to get the car professionally washed, clay barred and stripped right back to get rid of all of the road grime/Tar and deposits. I know of a few chips that need doing not obvious to the eye at first glance but i know they are there, back arch just in front of rear wheels for example. Then looking for a machine polish of every single panel followed by an application of a nice long lasting wax, quite happy to pay a bit extra for one of the exotic ones to get a stunning shine on it. Full interior blitz as well. Autobahn Detailing in Aberdeen have come recommended but i would prefer someone closer to home in Stirling. http://www.autobahn-detailing.co.uk/services.htm If anyone has any recommendations that would be appreciated. Regards ScottyB
paul555sti Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Speak to gus the bus and a few others and i am sure they will recommend Iain, i am sure his company name is proshine but i am sure Gus will be along soon to point you in the right direction.
C_WRX Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 (edited) There are one or two on here that may be able to offer their professional services, e.g Iain. Just class myself as a beginner with it as a hobby having just finished my own marathon effort but so happy when it looks soo clean and shiny !! If no luck with folks on here or distance is still an issue could look on detailingworld. Remember get the pics up when you've had it done, well as long as you're happy with it !! ScottyRB320 Posted August 8, 2008 Author Posted August 8, 2008 Thanks for the swift replies guys. Will defo post some pics once done for all to see. Regards ScottyB

Next time I see it it'll be machine polished! and a full clean all round! I'll kill im if he's used a regular sponge to wash it!! paul555sti Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 And going by this post they do quite a good job http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=80553 Just a shame you would need to wait until next year to get it done. I am sure they stopped taking booking for this year a while ago. Stunning work and i love reading the right ups on scoobynet.
Mike M Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Scotty, if you're really struggling I'd be happy to help out, although I'm only an amateur, but I am in Stirling, so very local. Obviously if you can get a professional go for it, I'm not trying to steal any business from them, but if you are striking out, then give me a shout. I've got a couple of bottles of polish and some polishing gear - Oh yeah and I just took delivery of a paint depth gauge!! All the Best Mike
frank c Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 That's good to know... some collection for an amateur
paul555sti Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Holy **** Mike did you rob one of polished bliss delivery trucks? Thats a collection and a half.
thewelsho Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 That's good to know...some collection for an amateur Just what I was thinking! That has to be a form of OCD!
Mike M Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I've defo got OCD - obsessive car detailer!! Just enjoy making cars shiny and happy to help a fellow scooby owner if they need it, obviously don't want to nick any business from the pro's as I only do this as a hobby!!

scouk Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Scotty, if you're really struggling I'd be happy to help out, although I'm only an amateur, but I am in Stirling, so very local. If seen "so called" professionals with less equipment than that!! But it's not the stock, it's how you use it that counts I'm curious to see some of your work mate! I'm sure it's top notch!
scotsman Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 I live in Dunblane and had Ian from Proshine come up from Edinburgh to do my two cars - amazing job and good price. Highly recommended.

But it's not the stock, it's how you use it that counts I'm curious to see some of your work mate! I'm sure it's top notch! Totally agree with you 100% Al, I've seen some "professional" work that has been really poor, just because you've got the gear doesn't say much. I've enclosed a couple of thread you can have a wee look at, one of them is the original Dr Colorchip review I did, since it went out, Bill at Dr Colorchip has confirmed over 1000 sets have gone to the UK!! Wish I'd bought shares in the company!!! You can also go onto the Polished Bliss website and look up their show n shine area where I won the March 2008 detail!! Dr Colorchip review (I still love this stuff!!) http://bbs.scoobynet.com/car-care-380/6765...eferrerid=49260 Cheers Mike
