  2. Hi Dipsey, Aye that is me who posts as ScottyB on GTROC, can't think of the thread you mean though? Couldn't find the link on Track Scotland either?
  3. Hi Folks, Long time no speak, it feels weird being back on SIDC without my RB320 anymore. Even stranger when i keep waving to Scoobies and they look at me like i am daft....... I had a cracking weekend, Saturday at Knockhill and Sunday at Crail. Managed to do a few videos, i hope you all enjoy them. Do me a huge favour and rate them in You Tube and feel free to leave comments. Regards ScottyB New Titanium Race Exhaust, sound clip, standing throttle blips - Wet Knockhill, in car footage from Bruce's taxi's Track evo versus my GTR on lovely Summer Dunlops.....really struggled for grip as you will see from my other videos - Sound clips of car passing the pit wall up the straight - 2 in car videos kindly taken by Andy, no grip what so ever what you can't see sadly is the huge amounts of opposite lock being applied on a regular basis to keep the thing out of the kitty litter, baby throttle due to the weather. Can't wait until i get some dry lpas in....
  4. Hi Folks, Just a quick update. The lucky person with the highest bid for the British Touring Cars weekend was a serving member of the Armed Forces and his wife; she treated him before he jets off back to Afghanistan for another tour. They had a fantastic weekend which included pit access and Honda Hospitality. Paul was fantastic and spent every spare minute with us both on race day and also on Saturday’s free practice. We ate Honda out of house and home and were treated like royalty for the whole time we were there. A huge thanks to everyone who contacted me to bid on the tickets, remember even though you were unsuccessful a wee fiver or into the Just Giving Page would not go a miss especially since it is for such a great cause. http://www.justgiving.com/trackdayforheroes/ We have been working hard to make the track days a huge success in 2010 so keep your eyes peeled on our website which should be completed soon. www.trackdayforheroes.co.uk Regards ScottyB
  5. Hi Folks, Just another quick update. We are receiving some excellent offers from several forums for the Brands Hatch tickets which are really appreciated. We have also received messages of support from people who are unable to bid on the tickets as they have other commitments and believe it or not offers of money from those unable to attend as a way of helping start the appeal off on the right foot. So to clarify if you are unable to attend because you live too far away or have the kids that weekend and still want to give a few quid we would be delighted to accept your donations. Visit our Just Giving Page and feel free to make a donation no matter how big or small. http://www.justgiving.com/trackdayforheroes/ If everyone on the forums gives even a tiny amount we will get off to an excellent start! Be assured that the money is held by Just Giving and passed directly to Help for Heroes, remember that all costs for the Trackday for Heroes events including this weekend at Brands Hatch is being funded out of our own pockets or donated by corporate sponsors so you can be content in knowing that every penny will reach Help for Heroes. Regards ScottyB
  6. Hi Folks, Just a quick bit of clarification as i have had a few people contact me. We are not after hundreds and hundreds of pounds for these tickets, but if we get that we will be over the moon as Help for Heroes is very close to our hearts!!! We want them to be in reach of true petrolheads who enjoy the BTCC and want a once in a lifetime weekend. We want to spend the weekend with 2 decent like minded car lovers not some rich weirdo who is going to be a pain............ If you feel more comfortable putting your bids as replies below rather than do them via PM please feel free. The ticket/s will go to the highest bidder regardless of how their bid was received. Any comments on our plans for 2010 also greatly received. So come on dig deep and get your bids in ASAP Regards ScottyB
  7. Hi Folks, Myself and my wife are going to be at Brands Hatch this weekend for the British Touring Cars Event, open practice Saturday and the race on Sunday. We have 2x VIP tickets available if anyone would like to join us. Firstly let me explain. Paul O'Neill British Touring Car Driver and I along with a very close friend and also Ex Serviceman Steve Bremner are launching a charity event for Help for Heroes in 2010, we have not gone fully public with this yet as we are waiting on the website being completed. So you guys on the SIDC along with other forums are the first to hear of this. Track day for Heroes | Coming Soon! It is a holding page only at this stage. We are officially registered with Help for Heroes and full details including track venues etc will be available ASAP, our just giving page is up and running ready to receive donations which go directly to Help for Heroes. Scott Buchanan is fundraising for Help for Heroes - JustGiving We are waiting on a better photo for the Just Giving Page which we will get this weekend at Brands. The tickets for this weekend will be as personal guests of Paul and his team with access all areas. This includes Saturday free practice and Sunday race day. We will be with him in a private area seeing what really goes into preparing for a BTCC event and although Paul will be "in the zone" working he has assured me we will get some time with him between sessions etc. We understand that this is a very last minute offer but i would like to see if anyone in the SIDC would like to make a donation to our charity to grab these tickets and join myself and Paul for a weekend never to forget? If people are interested can they please PM me with their best offers for either 1 or both tickets over the next few days or email me scott@trackdayforheroes.co.uk I will then contact the highest bidder/bidders and have them pay the donation directly to Help for Heroes via our Just Giving Page so that folks know it is not our beer money for the weekend..... As a side note the tickets do not include accommodation so this you will need to sort yourself. So dig deep folks and come and spend the weekend with Paul it is for a cracking cause and you will be the first to donate and get the ball rolling. You never know you might even see me buying a round of beers!!! Just as a free plug here are the full details from our Just Giving Page so that you can see exactly what we are hoping to pull off in 2010 with the Help of Paul. Welcome to the JustGiving page of Trackday for Heroes. Track day for Heroes | Coming Soon! is a simple idea! It is the combined idea of Paul O'Neill British Touring car driver, Scott Buchanan Ex Army Air Corps and Steve Bremner Ex RAF Regiment. All 3 of us have been touched by the continuing number of injured British Servicemen and wanted to do something special in order to boost the funds of Help for Heroes so that they can continue the excellent work in helping our fallen when they get back to the UK. We are planning a series of Trackdays throught the UK in 2010 all keenly priced and with every single penny raised going to Help for Heroes. Where there is a cost of booking the track etc this will be funded from Corporate Sponsorship. The cost of setting up Track day for Heroes | Coming Soon! and the ongoing costs of the 24 Hr UK freephone number 0800 160 1 160 are all being covered from our own pockets!! So what' so special about a trackday? Surely it will just be the same as any other trackday i could attend? Not this trackday!! Our plan is to have professional instruction from the very best in the Country sat right beside you, guys who drive cars for a living! A chance to get up close and personal with THE very best driving talent in the Country! Keep an eye out on our website for the confirmed list of drivers which we hope will include Current and Ex British Touring Car Drivers, Fulltime Instructors from the likes of Silverstone, all being well a former F1 star and also an A1 GP driver and you never know we might even be able to throw in a few Petrolhead celebrities just to keep you on your toes!! We also plan on having a nice busy paddock area at each event with Motorsport related companies displaying their latest cars and technology and of course a few models helping show them off............. Dates and locations to be confirmed ASAP - Places will be on the basis of a minimum donation via our Just Giving Page.
  8. I'm up for this lads Don't dingey me though just cause i am in a GTR now..... Fai get your finger out and get the beast ready in time for this, can't wait to see it in the 10's mate.......... Regards ScottyB
  9. Yip it is the same car originally sold by Extreme. The guy in question is a member of the RB320 OC I touch goats Scott
  10. Hi Scott, Official records show 3 Development Cars, I know that a member of the RB320 Owners Club from the North of England bought one about 8-10 months ago. Well worth enquiring on there - Drop MArk the Chairman an email he will help in any way he can or Maxxed Ross as he is on there most days. Nobody really knows the whereabouts of the 3rd one? Cheeky buggers at the garage in question used the brouchure photos of my car with my reg in their advert!! (The reg in this add looks familiar) I happen to know the price the guy paid for that car if it is infact the same one, will drop you a PM................ Regards ScottyB
  11. Cracking turn out guys, well done, great to see you winning the Best Stand award as well, even if you all skulked off early and weren't there to pick up the trophy................. Popped over a few times Bobby but missed you i spent most of the day hiding from the rain sat in the GTR reading the News of the World and enjoying my flask of tea.............
  12. Thanks Paul, I see the car about quite a lot as well, someone should shove an SIDC flyer on his windscreen.
  13. Although it is officially a 4wd car, it is always routed to the rear. Only when you are being a complete tube will it shift power to the front. It is cool watching the Multi Function Display "Trying" to get the torque split meter to move..... Not adjustable as far as i am aware.
  14. Yes mate she went to a guy in Northern Ireland. Put it up for sale on the Friday lunchtime and she was paid for by the Saturday! Miss it to be honest, it was an amazing car totally different from the GTR, a brilliant piece of Scooby history. I would loved to have been able to keep both but i am working away just now and 1 car is going to waste never mind 2......... GTR is another step up again, totally mind blowing performance. Miss the Scooby Burble though........
  15. Looking good lovely wee rip as you pulled away from the main roundabout heading out towards Tullibody. I still get a warm fuzzy feeling when i see the back of a Scoob squat down and power forward Wee man tried to wave at you from the back of the White GTR as we went past, he still loves a Scooby, future petrol head in the making..... Regards ScottyB
  16. First car was an XR4x4i in White.............. I passed my test in the Army at Leconsfield when i was 17 and it was my old mans car. Fair play to him he charged me top whack for it and made me pay every bloody penny. I remember my insurance was £2800 third party only and on a squaddies wage that was murder. I never went out much i just paid the car up, paid the insurance monthly and just about had enough dosh left for petrol and beer. I used to look forward to getting sent to s**** holes like Bosnia or Northern Ireland to get extra cash to pay it off...... Regards ScottyB
  17. After an email from IM i am lead to believe that Warranty claims for suspension are no longer being honoured. Worthwhile phoning the likes of Ian Grieves to confirm if this is still the case? It certainly was a few months ago when i was looking to claim for the rears on my RB320
  18. Storm White so you shouldn't miss it. The nuts is an understatement, i had a 997 Turbo previously and it is even faster than that which is just not possible!!!!!
  19. It was looking awesome! Yeah the weather has been pants to be honest. Yeah i have the GTR what a machine, i was dropping the wife off, just at the back of yours down the wee lane, her mate stays there. Around that area quite a bit just now so keep an eye out for me and gives a wave. You shouldn't miss the plate - SC07 GTR.......... Regards ScottyB
  20. I saw your motor today just on the left as you come into D*&% or what ever it is called nowadays................. Looking good mate, parked up in a wee car park just off the main road, i won't say exactly where incase scum are searching the boards for cars to nick..............
  21. See you there Rossco, I am taking the GT-R up. Going with Ailz and the rest of the crew. Regards ScottyB
  22. Hi Pav, Yip no issues with the 600 hundreds. R6's are nice as are GSXR 600's the tank is big on them so they feel much bigger. You have to have the discipline to tell yourself that you are "still" learning though even after passing your test. The skills building and awarness takes thousands of miles to master, try and short cut it and you are guaranteed to have an off. Best advice and i really hope you take it. Pass your test Direct Access by all means, rather than treat yourself to a new end can or power commander or any go faster bits invest in Advanced lessons, pure and simple. You can either go for the tweed jacket brigade IAM (Institute of advanced motorists) or better still find someone like Brian at Matz motorcycles in Stirling who runs advanced courses or also a guy called Roger who is a Police Instructor at the Police College, that is when the real learning begins. Good luck with your test, don't take this the wrong way but you will have bad habits from your existing riding (We all did) dump them and start a fresh and your test will be a doddle. Regards ScottyB
  23. I second that Geo knows this stuff inside out! Regards ScottyB
  24. Where you based Scooby JT, Perhaps when we know your location we can recommend someone to look into it for you. Do not give up until you find the cause, especially with something so critical as basic handling! Regards ScottyB
  25. Yeah but he has had his allignment checked and it is fine? Also the "Crabbing" is not a symptom you would expect to experience from tyre issues? Care to double or quits on the pint? Loser buys a crate?
