ballsie Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 No official announcement about a PPP pack for current 08 STi owners though. Fingers crossed.
STI_380S Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Looks like the 380S has been binned due to government regs requiring more than Prodrive can build before an April 09 deadline Leaves the 330S as the top level STi .......

STI_380S Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Looks like you picked the wrong name then Aye, have to go back to the old one
gambler Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 With the 380 having to be hand built my prodrive it kind of makes you worry about the new engines. Obviously they have to do a lot of changes to the internals to make them reliable. I have heard that some of the new engines have been having problems with cocolate pistons.

I spoke with the man in charge of the developement of the cars at the McRae gathering and had a good nosey round the only prototype which looked outstanding, infact if anyone at the gathering went to the subaru Stand you probably saw it and never realised it. terzo neil Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 you mean this 330s subaru sti which comes in a nice 31,550 quid
wilky Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 you mean this 330s subaru sti which comes in a nice 31,550 quid Thats the very chap! Very nice, I may be tempted to buy the 380, mind you, the new focus RS is drawing me like a moth to a lamp so the subaru needs to be feckin outstanding! Cheers Neil! Callum W
terzo neil Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 even took a picture of the spec card 330ps and 470nm, 0-62 in 4.8 secs and top speed of 155 limited
Boyakasha Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) £31.5k for 330PS, Subaru are having a laugh. Whoever pays that needs their head examined. Edited September 11, 2008 by Boyakasha
ed-209 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 £31.5k for 330PS, Subaru are having a laugh. Whoever pays that needs their head examined. It's not bad when you consider EVO's are that sort of price.
Boyakasha Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) It's not bad when you consider EVO's are that sort of price. True but this is a Subaru and the MY06/07 only cost about £27k with PPP With the current market at rock bottom I'd be surprised to see these sell. Edited September 11, 2008 by Boyakasha
billyboy Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 All i can say is cheers guys."Chocolate engines" really fills me confidence as ive jus bought a new 2008 STi.
scoobykev Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 you mean this 330s subaru sti which comes in a nice 31,550 quid i had a look around this too, lovely car. the guy on the stand said they were using this one as test base for the 380, didn't say what price it'd be though A sticker on the instrument binacle said "show car, do not drive above 20mph"
lv-426 Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 True but this is a Subaru and the MY06/07 only cost about £27k with PPPWith the current market at rock bottom I'd be surprised to see these sell. When you consider the current price of MY08 STi is £26.5k, for an extra £3.5k you get 18" wheels & tyres, recaros, SatNav, keyless entry/push button start & approx 30bhp more, it's not that bad a price Shame the 380S is going to fade away as all concepts do if they don't become a reality .... Don't forget the UK always gets fleeced when it comes to buying anything, but hey, if £30k for a special edition STi in hatchback form is too much, don't buy one, it's a simple choice really John
