st3ph3n Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Ye cannae beat it! They might be illegal immigrants, but I'm not one to cast aspersions. They do a mean job of getting the inch thick covering of flies off my bumpers and mirrors.
cullenmin Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 They do a mean job of getting the inch thick covering of flies off my bumpers and mirrors. Thats because they use a brillo pad
C_WRX Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 It'll look good suppose...from a distance. Cheap and cheerful and gets the muck/flies off. No need for fancy drying equipment either suppose, just get a bit of speed up .
micra_wrc Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 the one local to me does a hot wax/jet wash/alloys cleaned combo for £4. Good for convenience, laziness and to get muck off the car once in a while. wouldnt use them too regularly though, the power from the jet wash has loosened the FIA badge off my boot lid
colzo Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Ye cannae beat it! You cannae beat it for what? Swirls, scratches and generally ruined paintwork! Sounds a bargain to me.... NOT.
johnnyr6 Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 You want a clean car? Take it out in the rain..... Sorted. Johnny

st3ph3n Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 £4 Imy? They seen you coming alright. The places I've gone to have been great. One of them tried to wipe out the crease in my front wing. He could have been there quite a while, but I didn't know the Polish for "I hit a barrel on the shawhead flyover and it's buggered that wing Pal".
thewelsho Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 (edited) You cannae beat it for what? Swirls, scratches and generally ruined paintwork! Sounds a bargain to me.... NOT. Yeah, I stopped using those guys a LONG time ago and I'm not that particualr about my paintwork but defo more particular than Stephen - but that wouldn't be hard! Edited June 18, 2008 by TheWelsho
pmacFTO Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 A guy on the FTO forum got his done by some Polish guys at a big Metro Centre down south - after he got home he fount they had scratched the car and used some touch up paint to hide it! (black car)

micra_wrc Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 not everyone has a driveway and a garden tap + hose to be able to wash their cars. if I had my own car washing facilities then there wouldnt be a need for me to go to these places
nanaki Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 yeah it would be a bit of a trip for you imy to go and fill up the bucket and then if you forgot something anther trip back up.. i wash mine with the karcher whenever i get round to it.... which so far is once in about 2 months.
st3ph3n Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 This thread didn't turn out to be nearly as entertaining as I hoped it might
Frank_STI Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 This thread didn't turn out to be nearly as entertaining as I hoped it might Were you hoping for another detailing thread warzone??
Frank_STI Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 You could try a thread about using a sponge that lies on the ground and used to clean the whole of your car(including arches)?? Might get a closer response to what you expected lol Although, seeing they £3 car washes qued out the door does grind my gears
