colin_ross
Sitting at work and ten minutes ago the phone rings, it's the missus telling me she's just went outside and her cars got a flat tyre. She doesn't have time to change it (like she'd have a clue anyway) and she's late for our daughters school sports day, can she take the subaru??? :D :P :o After a 4 minute conversation about "how do you start it" and what does that button do and me hearing her rev the t!ts off it as she pulled it out of the garage I'm sitting here fearing the worst. Should I tell my boss I have an emergency at home and rescue my beloved from my beloved or am I being paranoid? Edited June 18, 2008 by Playsatan2 Link to comment

RA Dunk
brave man, especially with the power it has, a wee bit too much throttle and she`s going to find herself glued to her chair paniking for the brakes Link to comment

colin_ross
brave man, especially with the power it has, a wee bit too much throttle and she`s going to find herself glued to her chair paniking for the brakes Thanking my lucky starts it's only on a low power map at the mo until I can sort out a few issues so only running circa 500 bhp. Mind you it does have the dccd set to fully open. Link to comment
scoobyiain
Don't panic mate, i'm sure she knows what the car means to you and will take it easy. She is probably bricking it more than you. Link to comment
dan_jess
Maybe she will enjoy the car so much that her own car will keep mysteriously getting flat tyres Link to comment

Dorsetdaffodil
I bet she did it to show scoob off to her mates at school hahahaha and how do ya know she aint "borrowed " it before hehe Link to comment
colin_ross
well. I hot footed it home and gave the car a quick once over. All looked well, no chucks out of the alloys, no bits of hedge stuck in the grill, no pools of oil under it. The only major damage was to my back when i tried to squeere into the seating position she had left it in. Don't think she'll be borrowing it again. Apparently it,s "a bit loud". Her daily driver is turbo charged btw, a diesel mondeo. Link to comment

scoobysailor
Playsatan - I take it your missus doesn't read the threads on this forum Link to comment
RA Dunk
i can see why he was worried TBH, letting a woman loose in a 500(ish) BHP practically RWD car that she has never driven before would get me flapping too Link to comment
colin_ross
I can't believe you did that! Have you no trust in your wife's driving capability ?? or is it your handy work you're paranoid about? She's not the worst driver Alan but she is ill prepared for what this car might throw at her. Build quality isn't a concern albeit that I'm still well withing shakedown mode but her total lack of mechanical sympathy is. She'll merrily bounce up kebs, squeeze into spaces I'd never look at and comments like "that oil lights really starting to annoy me" are not unheard of. Link to comment
kaylz_555
oh ye of little faith, not every female driver is cr*p lol I 2nd that one P.s. I'm late for my...., can I borrow it too? And also - did you check the tyre when you got back or did she miraculously remember "how to" before you got home Link to comment

st3ph3n
I'm always surprised by Nicola's ability to clutchless and flat shift her Matiz. Colin, did it have THE wheels on it when you let her out? Is she aware of their irreplaceability? Link to comment
