mctwistuk Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 (edited) Well a good day was had by all today at Crail. Some very good times were put in and am sure the pleased parties will post up soon. the day went without too many problems although it was tuch and go on the way up with one of the cars but i will leave that for the man to explain. The sat nav took me and the mrs on the tourist route and we ended up at Crail about 45 minutes before the fast convoy (ok they did have to stop to fix a problem lol). I am posting some videos up on youtube and will put links to them when my pc decides to wake up. Oh and the weather was scorching. On the way back home me and the mrs stopped off at Anstruther for a wee fish supper and bumped into a mini "Thistle Run" which had taken over the only carpark in the place. There were a few strange ones lol. i will post up some pics in the off topic section nanaki on the strip http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wWE56Iu39tA the barhead bomber pic guess who won?????? a nice wee Aline i think nanaki a video from the fastest run of the day but guess who won and got a cracking time?????? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WYtWDiA2G7s Edited May 25, 2008 by mctwistuk
RA Dunk Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 looking forward to hearing the times from the "big boys" lol peter finally get his eleven?
jimser Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 good pics/vid chris.i think peter was giving me a bit of a start. both of us got in the 11's today, although a world apart,i managed an 11.95. really struggled to launch it today so a bit more practice needed,at least the terminal speed is showing theres a bit left in the car yet. as for peter well what can i say, ever so close to the 10's with an 11.08! well done mate until next time nice to meet jc scoob today and also kevametal(scoobyless now)
paul555sti Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Great times both Peter and Jimser. I think Peter needs to work on the reactions a wee bit.
RS Grant Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Wow, that is extremely fast... Peters is a 10-second car with a decent run and the right conditions. Jimser, yours is very quick too, 11.anything is impressive on the 1/4 mile IMO. Cheers, Grant
mctwistuk Posted May 25, 2008 Author Posted May 25, 2008 i have some more pics/vids etc but my pc and broadband are slow so will post them up later. Both peter and Jims cars are something else. they are a credit to the club. Nanaki had a good time as well when he ditched his passenger. He was struggling to see why his times were in the 14's with a passenger. As soon as he ditched him he was getting under 14seconds. Both jim and peter have some areas to work on and am sure that with a wee bit of practise they will be getting even beter times next time round.
RA Dunk Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 as for peter well what can i say, ever so close to the 10's with an 11.08! nice one pedro! get that interior ripped out and the back spoiler off for the next time
mctwistuk Posted May 25, 2008 Author Posted May 25, 2008 both guys were running pretty stripped out cars. i even had the spare wheels and toolkits stored in my boot from them both lol.
braveheart Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Exellent time's Gents well done hat's of to u 2 Peter, Jimser and well done to every one else that attended hope you got you PB today ...
st3ph3n Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Great times chaps. Looks like a cracking day for it too.
killa Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 excellent times you got there, well done 11.08 thats quick..
nanaki Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Nanaki had a good time as well when he ditched his passenger. He was struggling to see why his times were in the 14's with a passenger. As soon as he ditched him he was getting under 14seconds. Dosn't help that as well as my passenger (my cousin sean who i did invite for a day out) i had 3/4 of a tank of fuel instead of under 1/4 and my car was still in heavy weight day to day mode including tool kit in the boot. the fact that my launches sucked as im out of practice is beside the point 13.58 when i was just having a bit of fun is still not to shabby. fancy me beating my 13.28 at some point this year. as for the big boys i shall let them tell there own tales. oh and for the guys who were there my cousin says thanks for a great day.
jcscoob Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Tis was good to go across to crail the day even if it was only for a couple of hours, its just a shame i was only spectating (witch i fine to hard) Peter that is one serious bit of kit you have got yer sell, well done mate that should stick you right at the top as "THE FASTEST NEWAGE" hats off to ya Jimser good to meet you theday, your motor is some thing else too, love the no spoiler look. Jimser .... Jimser .... Peter .... T25 .... Megabusa ....
fai17 Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Yes it has been an eventfully day...with the run to Crail through Cupar. The car started over heating on the back roads as the coolant has been lost from the wee expansion tank. 11.08 @ 132!!! ii'm shocked as much as yous are. Thanks to McTwist for storing Jimser and my stuff and we owe you dearly for that. Had a real good time with all my good mates and i hope i can crack into the 10s with better weather and a BIG tail wind lol More practice for me as i haven't had a scooby for a while now.
cullenmin Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Excellent times you guys have made today, next time for the 10's peter I had about 6 runs today, 1st time at crail with the type R. Fastest run for me was 13.6, with a passanger and 3/4 tank full of go go juice. I well need practice with the launches and I also need to start playing with the dccd I'm looking forward to the next crail thrash already. Rich

Cullieman....was a pleasure to meet you too
RS Grant Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 what a launch 1.4 60ft Holy sh!t, the fastest I've EVER seen up at Crail was a 1.6 60ft when one of my mates had a GT4 that launched hard.. a 1.4 is extremely impressive, specially considering the less than specialised surface at Crail and the power you're putting down Peter. Cheers, Grant
st3ph3n Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 I really wish Crail would stop playing that music. It's ruining the videos!
higgy Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Hey there guys, some good times posted and this means that the black bugy needs to visit crail and come out of retierment. 10 second rund on the next visit me hopes. Well done again guys. Higgy
