mctwistuk Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 got myself a new stereo and forester din pocket and fitted them this morning but am not too sure i have done it properly. there seems to be an awful big gap between the stereo surround and the console face. Can i get some pictures of stereos fitted in hawkeye/blobeye with a single din forester pocket as well just to make sure i have done this properly. cheers Chris

I dunno why I bought another Kenwood when that was the crap that came out of it. The first one I bought (can't remember the brand) sounded really good even with the standard speakers but the radio didn't work. Took it back and bought the Kenwood pash. Installed uprated speakers and it still sounds gash, buzzing here there and everywhere. Waste of money. Probably goign to haveto get them ripped out and reinstalled correctly.
colin_ross Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 What way up did you install it, i.e. does the flap open up the way or down he way? That will dictate whether the pocket has to go on the top or bottom of the stereo.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 My pocket has the door flipping up.................fits nice but we had to use tie wraps to keep it firmly in place http://bbs.scoobynet.com/ice-2/434105-guid...tml#post4676827
mctwistuk Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 i had trouble fitting the pocket on the bottom as i couldnt get it to sit properly. When fitted on top it rests on the stereo. Will need to move the whole lot forward a bit i think. Will post up pics with what i mean.
mctwistuk Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 how did you get the din pocket to hold in the bottom?i tried it there but it kept falling down.
GaryD Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Or screw it into the side brackets of the standard stereo....
colzo Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 The Forester pocket is not a direct fit for the Impreza so you have to drill holes in the bracket to make it secure. I know as I had one and binned it, went for the black pocket which fits perfectly and is for an Impreza.
st3ph3n Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I used a bit of double sided foam fixing tape. Still holding 3 years later.

I've got a forrester one on mine so the afr gaugue can be hidden in it but I'm not sure if I prefer the other one so on the hunt for one.

colzo Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Nice one Col. Any idea how much? Around £18 IIRC a wee bit dearer than the Forester pocket.
mctwistuk Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 going to try some super glue i thinks. A couple of wee dots at the edges should hold it hopefully.
