Who's Racing This Year?

We've got a few racers in our midst, so who's competing in what and when this year?

I noticed that Stevenson's rocket was entered for Kames this weekend.

Should be at a good number of the hillclimbs to help out my mate. Might be at the sprint this Sunday late on too.

Ill be out this year rookie year hillclimbing.

Red classic prob mostly at forrestburn. Done a few practice days so far and things looking good.

Check out Monklands sporting car club forum for some pics in the fun night section.

Greig (thankfully none of my first off tho lol pushed a bit too hard in falling snow with some A048s that weren`t too warm.)

I intend, Scottish Sprint Championship and do the odd Hill, time permitting. TOTB and maybe SSO. Might visit the odd English hill/Sprint track too.

Fun days at KH/Crail will probably be in the old car.

No ! Engine and box initially, long term just the gearbox.

Im thinking of doing a couple of hillclimbs or sprints. Love track days but im thinking of doing something competitive. Maybe even next years time attack. I have a new engine on the way

Have been doing a few autotests in a wee 205. Great laugh and im starting to get better. 2nd last in 1st test, kept going wrong way! Bottom 3rd in second test, too busy having fun. Made more of an effort in 3rd test and won my class. Just like school. 'Scott would do well if he paid attention'

Have also been thinking about getting the track day car turned into a rally car. Have really caught the bug. Car is not too far from it now anyway. Of course it would signal the end of any money i have, ever!!

So to sum it up. Im not sure what the hell im going to do. Ill just enjoy myself while i make up my mind. The highlight will be spa and the ring in october

Got to get the 205 Mi16 running and I will be back doing autocrosses down the borders with the mental 4 off the line format.

Got a Civic to prepare for autotesting and the Mex has to be put back together for classic rallies.

Just have to get my back fixed

It's not me that has to crumble... it's the wife. Can't blame her though, every time I go out one track it either costs hundreds or thousands of pounds. Trouble is, what's the point in having what I have if I can't take it on the track? I can't go to the next one anyway, I have a wedding that day, but I am going to push for the June one :boldblue:

John - Invest in a cheapo 2nd track car :boldblue:

I'll be hitting KH a couple times this year, first time doing so. Looking forward to it - Keep the road aggression for the track

just start sticking away a tenner here or a twenty there into a wee kitty to cover the costs of petrol and payment for trackdays, tell her your comming to spectate only and she will be none the wiser if you end up on track, where there`s a will there`s always a way :boldblue:

Yeah and hand over my gear box in a poly bag!

Aye right, no such a thing!

Of course there is.

Have thought about doing this in the past and having a ball at the hot hatch days. Decent cars can be had for hundreds not thousands if you're not too proud.

Have you heard of the practicle performance car £1000 challenge? A grand to buy, tune and run a car is easliy do-able. I paid more than that for a clutch for gawds sake.

Think 200sx, e30 325i, french hatches, any rwd old school and and a second hand trailer and away you go.

Again, save your pennies for a bit and get yourself a DC2 Integra. 200bhp, lightweight. Ingore the BS about FWD - Evo magazine called it one of the best handling cars available. You'll get a decent one for 4k.

VTR/VTS Saxos are even cheaper - Although if you've got anything over size 9 feet oyu might struggle, i was heel toe'ing by accident in my cousins 106 with my 13s. Good laugh all the same.

Power isn't everything on track!

I am...

Power isn't everything on track!

Yes it is!

I LOVE my car and I want to drive that! What is the point in spending fortunes on it to run it back and from work? Pointless. My plan is to keep biulding it up till its near bullet proof and then keep it mostly for track and I'll get a Beemer for every day use. That is some years down the line however! And I don't mean a Beemer like G.Mac's! Sorry, no offence, but I'd like a really nice new one :boldblue:

So all those ARBs, coilovers and braces are for show? :boldblue:

B Roads ma boy! And as I said, I am slowly making the car a track car anyway. As I said, a few years down the line when I can afford something nice, I'll use it sparingly and mostly on track.
