st3ph3n
Checked all the hoses? Might have popped something if you've overboosted. Is the car mapped to UK petrol? Run on v-power or another premium product? Link to comment

I did try to decipher the code to no avail, but it was flashing lots!! Cheers again Link to comment

Cheers again ok mate you need to study this web page to learn the codes it took me a while, this could be your maf, if thats the case the flash code would appear a bit like this long long short short short long = 10 short = 1 this code exsample = 23 the codes are read by connecting the black connector you can reset the code by doing the green connectors but will only wipe the codes till next time, wont solve the problem untill the nececerys are replaced/fixed cheers craigy Link to comment

nanaki
might want to post where about you stay mate that way people will know if there close enough to offer assistance. It sounds like your car has gone into limp home mode. The car will appear to idol fine whoever if you try and give it beans and hit boost you will feel like someone has just put a brick wall in front of you. this is supposed to happen to protect the car. no higher than 2500 rpm till you get the code worked out. and the maf in the 99/00 cars is an extremly common fault due to its design. i'm on my 3rd in 18 months (fitted the new one earlier tonight) you could try resetting the ecu and then take it a drive. if the cel comes back on then get it to a dealer or see if anyone near you can help you read the fault code. jd
just readin this, 1st post says car will NOT idle and runs like a bag of nails. if ecu went into safe mode would still idle and drive, just have no guts. sounds like it could be expensive, did you let the car warm up before flooring it? ormiboy
Yes car was running for about 20 mins before giving it some welly Id reset the ecu to start with. if its the maf then the code will more than likely come back i would think. My car did something odd like this once, afterwards it would not idle well at all. Turned out the idle control valve had stuck for a bit. After pulling over and turning the car off and then on again it ran rough then cleared. The stored code was ICV. Is it worth giving the ICV a wee light carress with something?. i.e tap it with yer knuckle. Best of luck. Willie Link to comment
