b4z Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 hi car is going in on saturday 2 get the hks fuel cut defencer and bleed vavle set has anyone used them before??
blitzwrx Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 not used them for work just the rollers, they have a very good reputation with all the ford boys though,
johnnyr6 Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Good with fords, crap with scoobs. Fitting a fuel cut defender is easy though so they shouldn't have any probs. Johnny
david_taylor Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Used them a long time ago with my RS Turbo. Were total a$$holes mind you. Knew their stuff but their attitude made me decide never to use them again. Patronising and came close to a smack on the nose. Dont look like they have ever changed either! Just my experience.
scoobzie Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 (edited) used them for the scoob not so long ago wouldn,t let them near my car again bunch of monkeys telling me i needed a 4 inch exhaust from the downpipe back for 350bhp what a load a piss and prices i asked were the ski masks were when they robbed me stay well clear the rolling road is for tunning flinestone motors its ancient Edited March 24, 2008 by scoobzie

craigdmcd Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Years ago, my mum's cossie had a running problem, and they wanted us to leave it overnight (it was a year old at the time) even though they had no insurance for it!!! I asked how they were going to test a 4wd cossie as I didn't a 4wd rolling road - they said that they would put the front on the rollers and just jack the back up in the air . Never been back since surprisingly
andy Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I'm technically clueless so have gone by the recommendations I've seen on here from those who know their stuff. If these guys say avoid them then I'd avoid them. Hypertech were recommended to me yonks ago by guys on here so I went there, purely based on what was said on this Forum and have been back several times since. There's no doubt Dunc knows his Scoobs. (fecking cold place to hold a barbecue in November though!)

Carson Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 When I seen this post there was no comments,I was waiting on every one els to slag them. Am a kicker downer Apparently made fords about my area rapeedo, untill blown as said above. Must be there style - rapid dyno results / unreliable / arrogant / "old"skool.
scoobymadburd Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 They had a scoob in and it ended up at my bf work! lol
b4z Posted March 26, 2008 Author Posted March 26, 2008 a fitted the bleed vavle and fuel cut defencer ma self few boys a know sweat by them and would never use any other place they have the hardest dyno in the land am told
sandyRS16i Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Went there with my RS16i, they ran it on the rollers then told me I needed a full engine rebuild as it only made 100bhp (atw) ....it was only 115bhp at the fly in 1982 . Was told its cash up-front and they would do the work 'when they had time' When there another mate asked a question about a RB5 he had, it came with a bleed valve fitted which he had never touched as it ran fine, but still questioned if it was meant to be there or to remove it.....the response astounded me.....'course not standard, even my granny would know that' we still joke about that now ......they are a bunch of arrogant twats IMO. I would never go back or use them....customer service skills leave a lot to be impreoved on

You couldn't get a bunch of friendlier or more helpful poeple in the trade IMO.
GER UK Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 its obvious that you have decided to use AVA because they have been recomended to by others. If you go and they do what you want them to do and all is well then thats fine you can recomend them to others. But on the other hand if it doesnt go well and it cant be resolved then dont recomend them or use them again or if it makes you feel better slate them on a public forum altough on several other occasions i have heard the same pish about all the well known tuners. P.s i am in no way connected with AVA but am just sick of listening to bollox about 1 year old cossies gettin jacked up to run on 2wd rollers when a 1 year old car would have been back at the dealers to be sorted for nowt not to mention the they said this they said that bull****

Johnny I can assure you that they didn't have the 4wd rollers back in 1993, and the reason the car didn't go back to the dealers is that it was modified and Clanfords (the Ford dealers in 1993) would not entertain such a repair under warranty. Shame I have to explain this and people not taking an individuals word when all other points are taken on board.
