colin_ross Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 P.S. how safe is it to rag a car with a new head gasket? You don't need to bed a gasket in so no worries on that front. What else have you had done to it?
RA Dunk Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 thats about it , it was remapped a couple of months ago to suit the mods i had fitted, been hearing i need to take it easy and give it a few heat cycles etc which isnt a problem, but i dont know how long to take it easy for TBH

JohnSt Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Will that fit up the doune hill, it's a pretty narrow track Nice work John, can't wait to see it in action! I'm going to fit tyres to the side the way they do in fishing boats, that should me right Joking aside though, it is usefull having the same car as an everyday road car as its perifory is ingrained, it's not an issue anywhere else but the width will be an issue for me at Doune, I've a few coachlines on the current car from there. I'll just have to be mindfull this is wider ---john--- .

thefastone Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I'm going to fit tyres to the side the way they do in fishing boats, that should me right Interstingly enough, they are known as Yokohama Fenders... You KNOW it makes sense...
JohnSt Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 A C1? or a Legacy Turbo Diesel? First Guess, cheers for the heads up, liked it !!
gus the bus Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 First Guess, cheers for the heads up, liked it !! Thought it might be VERY surprising wee cars arent they!!!? Jap engine so you canny go wrong
thefastone Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 certainly got a good bit of nip about them... Although I have to say that the one that I drove Stalled a heap of times going from Wellington Road to Union Street... ran like a bag of nails... was not impressed... it only had 6k on the clock, was a courtsey car... I then took a drive in the Aygo... made all the difference... Makes me wonder how they are going to wear... (I'm pondering buying one for the misus...) Now the Fox... there's a quality small car... although, it lacked the nippy factor given that it was a bigger engine...

Dale my first one now has 18k on the clock (14 months old) with no problems what so ever and my latest one has 4k miles on it since January and has been just as surprising with NO problems either. I personally wouldn't pay the extra £1800 for an Aygo when its the same car Just my opinion mind
thefastone Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Yeah that was why I went to drive the C1 first... Mebbe that car had a hard life... just surprised at how much better the Aygo was.... for being the same car, like you say... Ah well, don't know how soon I'm going to be buying at the moment anyways...
