micra_wrc Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 well I've resisted the "need more power" bug and its sister "must look pretty" bug but have been bitten by the "handling bug" and got anti roll bars fitted and the geometry done. not had a chance to take it for a proper hurl yet but initial feeling is the car needs less steering input and feels more 'held together' going round corners. thanks to George cusco kid for supplying and fitting the front and rear arbs for me thanks also to the boys at Extreme Motorsport for doing the geometry - I went for the fast road settings. Grant had won the 'free geometry setup' prize at the RR day Marty organised last August and kindly gave it to me to use on the RA. and an early thanks to JohnS for donating the free KH trackday prize for the Aberdeen Santa Cruise last year..... i've claimed it and am booked on track for 15th March. with the bargain ESL live map AndyF did for me too I'm ready to rumble woohoo need to go on a run soon, who's up for a Sunday jaunt around the Highlands in April??
Dougie C Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I hope the Bug didnt bite too hard Imy. Good to hear you have started the modding and good to hear the car is running well. Dougie C
nanaki Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 now that is complete we can start on discussions such as turbo upgrade, bigger injectors and defi's..... ha ha!!! the bug will never stop.

seafar99 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Slowly, slowly and slowly the little demon knaws away in the farthest recests of the brain "what if i did this?", "what would that feel like?".......and slowly and slowly, you know that your sane and your not going to fall into that old modding................trap door. Before you've realized it, your on the road to higgyville. Great mods and you'll wish you'd done it 6 months ago!
paulc555 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 snap Imy.... as I said earlier today in my post....I never really understood all this geometry stuff...but having driven that RA as its set up now....it makes a huge difference.....along with the slightly wider track on mine...plus the fast road set up from Hypertech....and the stunning grip of the fantastic tyres....its a great package... hope you enjoy yours..and yes bring on the run........ Paul

fai17 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 lol @ Imy, im keeping mine standard!! another one gets bitten by the bug Lol.....modding is dangerous and costly if you don't get it for FREE!!
JohnSt Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I think all this modification malarky is just daft, what's wrong with these cars as they left the factory The only thing I've done to mine is fitted a magic tree air freshener
thewelsho Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 ...what's wrong with these cars as they left the factory The only thing I've done to mine is fitted a magic tree air freshener Nothing wrong with them, doesn't mean we can improve on them though, does it? BTW, what flavour of tree did you go for, I have been thinking about this mod for a long time, but can't decide...

JohnSt Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Pinnochio lives and breathes. OK OK, I admit it, it's the Blue one The green one would never have made an extra 300bhp
seafar99 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 OK OK, I admit it, it's the Blue one The green one would never have made an extra 300bhp and you even cut off the branches to save weight!
