craig79 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Hi everyone, I know Hypertech are renound for their 'fast road' setup but was wondering if anywhere was closer to Dundee that offered the same level of workmanship, not sure if AWD do the geo side of things ?? Whats everyone's current take on this ?? Thanks, Craig.
micra_wrc Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I'd be interested to hear what you guys think. What benefits are there in getting the geometry done?

Have got the p/drive settings at the mo albeit slightly tweaked It does optimise the handling of the car regardless of what you have or haven't fitted. Obviously it is of alot more benefit if you fit the usual suspects before hand ie. arb's, alk, d/l's, steering rack bush's etc. Personally thinkin aboot the handling aspect o the motor and if an anti lift kit is fitted then my p/d settings will be up the swanny. For as good as the p/d settings are they do tend to chew their way through my shoulders !! Duncan at Hypertech said that they can resolve that with their 'fast road' settings. Craig. micra_wrc Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 hmm perhaps I dont push the car hard enough or dont know any better but I'm happy with the way my RA handles guess I wont know if it can be any better until I do it, eh? got droplinks and anti roll bars fitted already, and getting the geometry done because I've been told to do it! (I'm preparing for the track day on the 15th March)
frank c Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 If anything Imy, it will help look after your tyres a little better and should make them wear more evenly. That's with the fast road settings right enough. Well worth the money
craig79 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 Ahhh you've got an RA, don't know much aboot the classics but do know that it'll certainly be alot more of a focussed drive than my saggy a.rsed '03 wrx - but I'm working on it Either way, would definitely recommend the geo to get the full benefit of your ugrades Craig
zeolite Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Falkland in Glenrothes are the experts in car settings. Years of race experience
craig79 Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 Dipsy, Kinda got dealer settings at the minute mate, was looking for more of a tailorer setup, thanks anyhoo. Zeolite, Cheers mate would it be said that falkland are as good as hypertech ? Have definitely heard of / driven past them, just don't know too much aboot them aye ?? Craig.

Greers put me in the direction of Duskview Garage in Barrmill which is a couple of miles from Greers. Got the Prodrive settings and it certainly feels better in the turns. Peter goes there....a lot apparently!!!
p1ggm Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 target tyres in perth are good, used them for my last scoob a couple of times
thefastone Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Only heard good things about Falkland....

Off the phone to them about an hour ago, got to say wasnae blown away with the phone service. I had to be asking for a price for something that they had done a thousand times and just got the impression they couldnae get me aff the phone quick enough. No sure if i'm being picky, the guy certainly wasnae cheeky but I just went away thinkin' the last 2 mins of ma life had been totally wasted !! All I was wanting was a price for supply / fitment of the most common handling mods known to a tuner of any kind ie. alk, arb's, d/links etc. Hypertech is lookin good Craig.

They even put my steering wheel on squint to try and stop it from pulling to one side..wtf !!
gus the bus Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Fast Rd settings all the way ....and if your willing to travel Hypertech or Progrip in bonnybridge (Falkirk) both do an excellent job at a decent price £55 all in
dipsy Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I am another one not happy with Target tyres was going to get Prodrive setting's after the teins were fitted but went for standard subaru setting's the toe was only the thing out .
Jimmy321 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 After reading other comments on this forum over the past year i got ARB's, drop links, ALK, lowering springs and went for the fast road geometry at Hypertech last week. The car drives & corners very well, if i need other mods or want different geometry settings i will go back to Hypertech. They charged me list price for the ABR's, drop links, ALK but fitted theses parts for free. Jim.
stubaroo Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Please excuse my stupidity, I'm a noob. Can someone explain 'ARB's', droplinks and 'ALK'. Are these expensive items? Are they easily fitted? Do they work?
dipsy Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 (edited) Arb anti roll bar ,Alk anti lift kit. Edited February 14, 2008 by Dipsy
Jimmy321 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Are these expensive items? Not expensive for the gains in handling IMO. Are they easily fitted? Still says on the site free fitting. Do they work? On Sunday i took a detour from Braehead shopping centre to Paisley via Greenock, Largs, Saltcoats, Kilwinning, Lugton & Barrhead just for the fun of driving.
craig79 Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 Appreciate the comments lads, looks like Hypertech here I come Hopefully getting a price fae them the morn so I'll take it fae there. Craig.
