Decals Change?

I kinda like the idea of graphics on the car, but I am getting a bit fed up with the WRT ones I currently have. They have faded and too many others have them as well. To that end I was thinking about a little change...

So I was thinking about going from this:

To something along these lines:

I like the Monster Energy drink catchphrase: Unleash the beast!

All USA/America references won't be included.

Opinions please!?

Have to say - Naw. That car just looks too 'busy' - too many graphics, all different colours.

I quite like graphics on a scoob, which I had the baws to do some on my car.

I seen a couple of Time Attack cars last year that were quite smart.

John, Pastrana's Red bull/Subaru America scheme is nice too. That's the sister Subaru of America/Vermont Sportscar Impreza to Block's monster energy sponsored one.

J,

Just be VERY CAREFUL when you take the old graphics off. Did you get them from Underground before the went 7i7s up?

The graphics MIGHT take your top layer of paint off aswell, they used the wrong vynil so I heard.

I have sent you a picture to your messaging system.

I like the Monster job.

BUT.......... as Oobs says id does look a bit busy..

Different tho

Yes, it is a bit busy, so I would tone it down a bit

Seen that too Stephen and liked it, but one other SIDC guy says he is going to go down the Red Bull route. i have not discounted it completely

How about the No Fear graphics Mcrae had in the x games

Thought about that too, but don't think they'd look so good on a blue car. Maybe if I changed the colour...

Correctamundo! I have known two others who have lost paint when removing these. Apparently there is some liguid solution that you can get to help take them off. Got your PM mate... I'll reply on that.

Thanks folks, all seems pretty positive I honestly thought I'd have gotten lambasted! Ha! I suppose there is time yet!

Patience and a hairdryer/heatgun in a warm(ish) dry enviroment... Take it easy heat up a section at a time and gentyl peel back the vinyl if it start to feel tight stop and heat up the next part...

The heat will warm the vinyl and make it rubbery which makes it easy to take off.. Also it allows you to take it off in more or less one go as opposed to tiny bits.. It will take time, but worth it ... I used to work for a local company putting graphics on the side of vans and stuff so I know how much a pain it can be taking the old ones off.. But the heat definately helps!

Only thing is I'd reccomend giving it a damn good polish when it comes off that will make sure any residure left on the surface of the paint/clearcoat will be cleaned off ready for the new vinyl! If you wash teh car afterwards you will see that the pattern will still appear where the water reacts to the bodywork differently but a polish should help this..

AS for design... I'd go for somethign similar, maybe the USA Subaru Rally Team logo:

I do like CMcRae NoFear one but don't think it woudl suit the WRBlue colour

AHAA!!! now i see them,i like the original SWRT ones personally, but yeah the Monster ones would be "original",have you looked at the DC shoes rally car,the orange goes well with the wr blue.....just dont paint youre wheels orange ffs.

John, the black no fear car Colin drove in 07 might work on WR Blue. It appeared in two slightly different guises:

The DC Shoes ones marky talks about were also from the Vermont Sportscar stable. There's been a few different schemes they've done, some for the Gumball and one Ken Block drove on the one lap of America.

The Gumball cars are here - http://www.vtcar.com/gallery/gumball/shoot01.htm - interestingly they did a line of shoes to commemorate them but they sold out before I could find any.

The one lap of America car:

That one for me is by far the coolest, but you'd need a white base for it.

FFS dont mention the stickers!!!

LOL !!!

Thanks Stephen, tons of stuff to look over in there! Maybe the No Fear would work by changing the red outline to orange.
