Wrc Coverage Starts Tonight At 6pm

Looks like the WRC coverage has moved again. The usual half hour shows are still on Eurosport in the wee small hours (probably running 2 hours behind because a Tennis match between no 93 seed and no 96 seed is running over in the Estonian Quarter finals B) ), but Dave (Channel 111 on Sky) seems to have the rights this year. It is able to be series linked so hopefully this is not just a season preview show, but all the coverage and the Rally XS preview shows as well. Hopefully a nice consistent time setting as well.

Yeah thats right WRC moved to Dave (Freeview etc). The show tonight (6pm) will probably be the season preview as the start of the season is next weekend in Monte Carlo. B)

Colzo, the listing info on Sky describes it as "WRC-Access all areas : a special preview to the WRC", so hopefully not just a review of last years championship.

Was that not the stage where about 4/5 co-drivers were winded after the 'big' jump? They couldn't relay any notes for a good few minutes after the jump! Don't know if that was 2007 or 2006.

Is there a site to watch the coverage without subscribing to the WRC? They've stopped covering the WRC in the US and instead put on reruns of Nascar races. :D

interesting to see that Suzuki have joined, love the wee Ignis and Swifts so wonder if their new SX4 will do as well :D

Good preview show. The SX4 is a quirky looking thing. Wonder if they'll release a tricked out version for the roads.

It was definately worth watching the show. I can't see them making a fast version of the SX4, as Hyundai, Seat, Citroen, Peugeot or Skoda have never made 4wd turbo versions of their cars. It is definately one of the downsides of having WRC regulations instead of Group A regs.

P1 Paul, I don't think it was Ouninpohja that had the bad jump, it was another stage was new and that was why it caught out the crews IIRC. Ouninpohja has been in the 1000 Lakes forever and a day. I do stand to be corrected though.

seat has with the cupra 4 just not in the UK as VW & Audi blocked it. Skoda has a 4wd turbo out there with the octavia aswell. Both are not the fastest when un tuned but the 1.8t is a hell of a tunable engine. So hopefully the SX4 will get a rally style one out.

Well as someone who was never a rally fan for well.... pretty much until i got my Scooby and met you lot... i though it was a very well put together show for the uninitiated.

It covered the basics of the rules and let me know who everyone is so that i can enjoy following the coming season.

I would also second the to few manufacturers comment however i don't know if this is normal for WRC or if I am just to used to the loads of teams in F1 which is what i pretty much grew up watching.

Looking forward to the actual events now... common Subaru!!!
