andy Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Without doubt - the addition of headlamp washers. Last year I couldn't do the run from home to my folks in winter (125 miles) in my blobeye without having to stop two or three times to clean the headlamps because I couldn't see f*** all. I've been up and back to Aberdeen twice in the past 5 days in the dark every time and not had to stop once. Quick scoosh and I can see again. Probably the last thing Subaru did right before going to the dogs

johns Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Better than that are the addition of HID headlamps - make a huge difference to nighttime driving. My first two Imprezas had headlamp washers, but I didn't think they made that much of a difference, other than making the headlamps wet so you could quickly wipe them clean
4Hero Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) yeah, the headlight washers are great! The best thing I find useful in the STi, compared to my blobeye wrx, is the fast pedal - it gets me to my destination much quicker Edited December 27, 2007 by 4hero
thefastone Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Ive headlight washers on me CLASSIC... they seem to work ok... its like all these kids with the latest toys, think that every thing nice and shiney on their cars were only thought of for their cars....

Yup, had them on the 94 wagon as well, although like John said they just made the dirt wet as opposed to actually keeping the lights clean
the_ex_leper Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 lights are great the boot is too big should have another 100lt fuel tank in there lol
scouk Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 My previous 1994 Volvo 440 had both headlight washers & wipers!! Lost them along with the heated seats when moving to the Impreza... But well worth it.!!! I do like the headlight washers on the hawkeyes they are pretty high pressure I believe and do a reasonable job of clearing the lens!
marky.t.s Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 00 m/y classic and the lamp skooshers work a treat,in fact if you give it a push whilst driving at a lively pace you get enough on the winscreen as well

My dad used to have an old Talbot Sunbeam which had washers and wipers on the lights, leccy windows, central locking and all that stuff back in the 70's when it was made... still all worked as well when he had it I think that the high pressure jets work okay, although IMO the ones on the classic are probably better in one way, due to them being permenantly on show. No moving parts to go wrong. Had an Audi S6 and the washers went a bit funny at times, one would sit up and the other one fully recessed. Push down on the one that was up and you raised the one that was down

Probably the last thing Subaru did right before going to the dogs did you know if you have zenon lights its a legal requirment that you must have headlamp wash system NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT as m caine would say geo
terzo neil Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 my old classic also has headlight washers and hid lights but the 1 thing i really miss is in cols freezing weather is a heated windscreen as last 3 cars have had them
thefastone Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Well I'd never heard of that before right enough Geo...
Hepy Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Does the hawkeye have a bright switch? If it doesn't, then it is crap. Fact.
Smiler AS Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Does the hawkeye have a bright switch? If it doesn't, then it is crap. Fact. Yep, the ever useful "bright" swith is still present on my Hawkeye!
