Prodrive Geometry

Hi folks does any one here have a blob eye lowerd with the prodrive geometry settings. Thats what i have on my car and i noticed the other day when i had the wheels off the front tires were worn badly on the inside edge not more than an inch is worn is this a price to pay for go cart handling or should it not be doing this. Oh there is only about 1-2mm of tread above the wear bar on the whole tire. :)

Yip, I'm afraid thats the price you pay :D . Better that tho than having sh*te handling and the ootside edge of the tyre worn, as is generally the case with the "factory" settings :)

Yeah as the rest of the replies have said.. It's a trade off between cornering grip and tyre wear as the tyres are tilted in the way a little so you'll get extra wear on the tyres. But means in the corners when th tyres lean over more of the rubber is in contact with the road..

I got the same sort of thing done on my Bug WRX, Prodrive springs and got the geometry set-up.. But when i got the geometry done I had a discussion with the guy and I ended up deciding for a setting in between the standard and prodrive settings.. Mainly for tyre wear resons and because I dont push the car that hard..

But I do suffer a little bit on grip on the front at times in corners compared to other impreza's.. :)

Can't have both I'm afraid.. Would be nice to have a switch of some sort for two settings depending on how you want to drive but sadly that's not possible.. (Unless you get the geometry set-up every weekend :D )

Yep - blobeye with prodrive springs & prodrive geometry. Just had to get two new T1's as the inner sidewall blew out on one of the fronts last week. Inner edges of the two fronts were quite worn.

Thanx guys i wasnt sure about that but i think i can live with that for the handling  Just need new tires now full set of the new pielli p zero me thinks

You could go for the fast-road settings which are not quite as severe as the Prodrive settings. Also, try and keep and eye on it and rotate the tyres once in a while to get a little bit out of them.

Just out of interest... Does anyone know what the "Fast Road" settings are?

I remember them being mentioned many times in the past but I dont remember anyone posting what the settings are. The answer that was often given was "Just ask the alignment folk they'll know" Didn't help when I asked about them.. They just looked at me with a blank look *sigh*

Thanks,

Na, dunno. I know a man that does though; Duncan at Hypertech. I am due back there for an oil change in the next couple of weeks, so I'll ask him then. I do belive that there is less camber, therefore less inner-tread wear. Of course the trade-off is less grip.

Hi

I started a thread about 'fast road settings' the other week after having them changed @ Hypertech.

Someone asked the same question about the settings and I said:

"not 100% sure but I think the fast road was negative 1 degree on the front (however, they could only get mine to go negative 0.55 degrees - MY07 STI) but it has still made a difference."

When I arrived @ Hypertech, I had -0.17 on the OSF and +0.2 on the NSF :P No wonder I was understeering on Right Hand bends!!
