scouk Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I've always loved the look of the yellow sports! If I didn't want a turbo so much i'd have probably bought one
stubaroo Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I remember seeing the pics of the other Sport you were considering (the one with the dodgy bumpers) and thinking .....ouch! But this one looks fantastic, very clean looking in the pics. Enjoy
the_ex_leper Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 welcome thats a good car to start off with
thefastone Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 not a bad looking car, looks very tidy, theres one simelar just round the corner from where I live... It might be a sport also... I cant remember offhand... The colour, is very unusual, not one that I would like personally, but if you like it thats all that matters, at least you never went for WRblue!!! I do think that getting a colour thats different from all the rest, just goes to make the car a little bit special! but then perhaps I'm biased on that point..... One thing tho... loose the bumper strips on the doors, it suits some cars, well just the darker ones, they are not so great on lighter cars...
boris b Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Hi buddy....Jeeze we'll not miss you coming along the road... Nice unusual colour..Very clean looking motor.
Enne_aitch Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 cheers for the comments as for the last sport i was looking at yeah thought it was just toomuch of a risk to take, this is a million times better and im happy for waiting, not happy this morning the fiancee wanted it for the day, so i got left with her alfa Grrrr still gotta keep em happy, as for the bumper strips... yeah i thought they looked out of place. are they just stuck on? no holes? and rivets? if they are just stuck on i may try and take them off. I had all these plans for it when i first bought it, full disc brake conversion turbo it and zaust and see how i got on... but knowing how special it is, ( only 400 made, 200 in cashmere yellow ) im abit weary about doing anything to it... where you think i should start. if i do i will stat with Wheels... Whats this PPP could this help my car with it being a non turbo, can i get much more power out of it? from aparently running 130BHP the now... Spoke to cusco who gave me some good ideas on where to start just wondered what you guys think? Cheers Nick

Cheers Nick to be honest, I prolly wouldn't bother too much with messing about it, the PPP is out for you though, as its a turbo thang, and you'll find that choice if exhaust is going to be more limited because you dont have the turbo... You could still change the backbox mind... Also, I wouldn't bother with putting a turbo in, as at the end of the day you'd be better off buying a turbo'd car in the first place, the sports are not really as moddable as you have been thinking before you bought her... and anayways, it would probably hit you harder for insurance modding to put a turbo in than it would just buying a turbo model... I used to have a 1.8 wagon, and apart from alloys, (it had steel wheels and hubcaps before) I never did anything to her (and I tell you it put a few turbo cars to shame....)... the non turbos you I think are just best to take them for what they are... although if anything, upgrade the handling.... Geo can tell you ALL about that!!!!!
thefastone Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Oh and Cashmere yellow... are you sure its not "CUSTARD CREAM"
Enne_aitch Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 (edited) cheers, ill maybe do just that. ill speak to Geo... thing is i feel it handles great as it is lol... not built up the courage, to push it harder at the mo. still getting used to it. Edited November 13, 2007 by Enne_aitch

LOL!!! Well mate I dont think that your sport will handle as well as a turbo, as i'm not sure (I could be wrong) i think that parts are diffferent... but the thing is I thought that my 1.8 handled well till I got my uk turbo... So yeah, really, as even now, thats one thing that a lot of us are disscussing is upgrading the handling just now... So I really think thats your best bet mate!
colzo Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Nice looking car mate. The colour looks great, its just the pics that don`t do it justice. IMO don`t over mod it as looks good as it is.
ScoobySounds Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I like the colour AND the the bumper strips! apart from anything else aswell they'll save carpark dings. I always liked the handling of my old sport, it was better than my wrx when I got it. not now though
ScoobySounds Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 oh- and mod wise I reckon a bonnet vent, some nice wheels and maybe lower springs then leave it.

Nice clean example there mate. My opinion - keep it subtle, don't go daft you'll just ruin it Welcome to the forum by the way !! Craig.
