dougster Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Never seen that but a good way to encourage people to join up.
andy Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 It's an experiment. If it doesn't work, we'll go back the way things were, but it does prevent those commercial sellers who aren't sponsors from touting their wares.

Andy thats fare doos about the people coming on just to sell parts . cant you make this for new people i though it was 1 off the best things within SIDC/ scottish section. im no trader or anything i just try to buy some parts and sell some parts to local scoob owners...i hate posting things and thought it was good just to collect/deliver parts. have even meet some great people with this way.....

craigwrx Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I actually think its a good idea and no different to many other forums, without financial support the forum would die ...
RA Dunk Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 good idea me thinks as it will reduce the chance of being ripped off from somebody looking for a quick buck
thewelsho Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Never seen that but a good way to encourage people to join up. Hmmm, that, and the fact that it gives us less buying options as well.
jodie typeRA Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 Hmmm, that, and the fact that it gives us less buying options as well. yip that to
micra_wrc Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 i think its a good idea. Although you have fewer buying options, you should have more confidence buying from the folk here, knowing that they are fully paid up members. there are other forums available if you want more choice
fai17 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 good idea me thinks as it will reduce the chance of being ripped off from somebody looking for a quick buck When said that man.....with so many scammers about and i hope this might stop them
ScoobySounds Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 When said that man.....with so many scammers about and i hope this might stop them is it poss to set it so you can only start a thread in the 'for sale' section after you've got like 100 posts or something.
andy Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 is it poss to set it so you can only start a thread in the 'for sale' section after you've got like 100 posts or something. No surer way to encourage post wh****g!
coulty Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 to be honest this is very unfair to a guy like me. I have been about here for as long if not longer than most. The membership would not benefit me in any way so therefore i have never had nor intend to get sidc membership. Even scoobynet lets non-members post in a for sale section. I think this has to be changed!!
drb5 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Don't normally agree with Stuart.........but he DOES have a point.

I think this has to be changed!! Yes, this is a good point, and I know that Coulty has done much for the community of drivers. No one can make a quick buck at our expense if we choose not to buy what they are selling. Also, having a membership doesn't make people suddenly trustworthy either. Only my opinion!
