Achtung Scottish Scoobies - Read Me

The new SIDC brings us a lot of opportunities to do new things and Phil and i have been chatting around some of them.

One of the possibilities that came to light was a totally seperate Forum User Group called "Scottish Scoobies Supporters"

This would have it's own seperate "member logo" like the ones members have now (except suitably Scottish themed, of course!) and be available as an upgrade only to Full SIDC Members via your membership control panel - again all fully automated.

There would be a charge for this - we're thinking £5 - £10 a year (no more than that) and Phil has committed all money raised would go back into the Scottish side of the SIDC for Santa Cruise or other charity events.

Firstly, would people be up for this? I think it's a great idea and a nice, easy way to raise extra funding for what is a fantastic cause, but that's only my opinion.

The only potential pitfall I can see is "Well 50% of the Scottish Scoobies Supporters come from xxxxxxxx region so we should get 50% of the money". If we can all agree, if this goes ahead, that funds raised would be split equally amongst ALL the regions running Santa Cruise events in Scotland then I think we're on to a winner.

Thoughts?

Would this only be available to full paying club members or can the lowly forum user level of member be allowed such a tag.

think the dosh should be divided equally at the end of the day TBH, would save alot of bother, after all none of us are actually benefiting out of it, its the kids

i would be up for this been on this site a while now and if it goes ahead then i will buy a full membership and donate some cash to the santacruise fund you should highlight this to more low level users buy putting it up as something like a permenent title because really i don,t think most of use low lvl user do enough to help out on here and like you said its for the kids you should really be trying to hit them to create more revenue cheers evokiller

Why not simply add the fiver to the normal SIDC fee's anyway and that way you will make more from everyone who is a member?

Obviously would gain more money and would probably have more SC's to support (as opposed to just the SS ones) but maybe it would gain as much if not more overall.

Now admins don't currently have there own logo.... i could see a competition in the works where....

I think its a great idea - Phil stole the idea from the Essex boys and he is desperate to become an honory scotsman rather than being an essex boy.

For what it's worth,Im all for anything that shows Scotland as something individual from the rest of the UK.

A couple of points

1. I don't want to add anything to the current membership for Santa Cruise as I beleive this should be voluntary

2. If you want to see me in a Kilt Raise £250* and I will wear one at the Scooby Ball and allow many photo's to be published

*subject to increase if this target is too low ;o)
