GJLATZ Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Hello all, Looking for any information on were I can buy a front set of pads for a 03 STI. Car has just been serviced by local dealer and as usual the two back shocks have been replaced again (car only done 16k). The front pads need to be replaced aswell, however I thought approx £ 256.00 was a bit expensive from the dealer. Any advice on where to purchase a set of pads would be greatly appreciated. Latz

wrxmania Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Phone AS Performance - most people on here swear by them - prices and advice spot on. Phone Alyn (Stockton) on 01914103770. You probably want Ferrodo DS2500 or, like mine, Pagid RS 4.2.1. Worth every penny. Brian.
john_mchutchison Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 i have the EBC yellow stuff pads and they are s**t hot when up to proper temp[], not so good when cold though []
david_taylor Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I got standard Subaru ones about 6 k ago. Price is not much different than the EBC Red Stuff ones, and the Scooby ones give off a rediculus amount of brake dust. In hind sight I would get the EBC ones next time. Dave
STi_Bandit Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Ive just put EBC reds on mine, bit of squeal till they are bedded in but once they are good pads, will be upgrading the disc to ebc soon as the standard disk is starting to lip up fter 44k Bandit
grant@AWD Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Hi there We have them on the shelf £95+vat 01738633336
david_taylor Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Well my Front Drivers Caliper is seized on and the pad is almost done after only 6 months! Got it booked in to get stripped at my mates next week and will be getting the redstuff this time!! This car is costing me a fortune this year!!![:'(]
thewelsho Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I have shafted every set of pads I ever owned in less than a year. Three sets including 2 Subaru sets and a set of DS2500 Ferodos (aslo a set of discs). That's what driving on the track does for you though! Right now, they are squealing, grinding and I am getting a loud WOOOO sound at low speeds that seems to be coming from the rear... others have said that these symptoms indicate "binding" what ever that is!
Double Zero Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 http://www.austin-healey-club.co.uk/Pages/tips.htm Try this link john it may give you an idea what is wrong with your brakes if that what the problem is. Stevie
