AutoBuhn Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Hi, new here, like to say hello. Have had imprezas for seven years now (96 FWD 1.6 LX - back seat passengers loved it swinging round bends, then 10 months later a 98 2.0 GL - driver liked it, then a terzo - driver loved it, and for the last year and a half a 94 JDM WRX which tore my face off and set my trousers on fire). Hope to sit a new age someday but hope I don't 'need' to get one like I 'needed' the last four vehicles. A serious modification question: has anyone tried one of those deer whistles? Did it work? Are there any suggestions for a bracket thingy to slip it in and out of when needed? I've always been waving at other Subarus but to save embarassment when people don't wave back I think that I'm waving on behalf of my car to another car. Safe driving.

Deer Whistle?WTF! small device that clips on to bumper give s of ultrasound that wee cant hear but dear can supposed to scare them from roadside sell them in garages in highland areas . with your exhaust dont think you will need on peter[] lol
AutoBuhn Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Thanks for the welcome. The deer whistles (www.deerwhistle.co.uk) are supposed to be a safety device to emit a sound frequency which freeze deer. It is a bit worrying to round a corner on a twisty road at night and see reflections, moving, where there previously hadn't been any reflection posts. BTW I was with some people who were swapping deer stories and the sometimes serious impact a collision with them can make. Someone said that they hit a pheasant with their left front wing and the pheasant got up and ran away and their 2CV was almost a write off.

AutoBuhn Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Hi Terzo Neil, The number was 234 but sadly R.I.P. November 2005. I've kept all the paperwork in case any one needs it for compiling a history or register of this outstanding, particularly for its time, vehicle.
AutoBuhn Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Hi, I'll get pics up as soon as I get to grips with this new pc. The car is a standard JDM 1994 WRX but has gold STI 7/8 wheels to cover the Brembos on the front. I'm swithering but will probably get the wheels silvered shortly. BTW of course the space saver wheel would not cover the front wheels if I had a puncture so is there a space saver wheel which could be sourced, bearing in mind the local and central Scotland dealers ignore me and the car when I pull in to them, that would cover the brakes? I'm not confident with the aerosol of foam to re-inflate the tyres and dread having to try and swap back and front wheels in this so called summer we are having.
fai17 Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Quote swap back and front wheels in this so called summer we are having. I think that is the only way........maybe a newage STI space saver wheel would do the trick....i have never tried it myself!.
thefastone Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 well to be fair, if your front wheel pops.. do you really want the space saver on the front of the car.... either way I would probably prefer to have it on the front.... Oh, and welcome to the foum! [H] get pics of yer motor up Pronto!!!!! []
mrbadger Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I was looking for a Badger buster.... Anyone???? Welcome and enjoy the community

A work colleague hit a deer in his Volvo estate. 06 plate. £7k damage, airbags off etc - 9 weeks to repair...still not right. The deer got up and ran away! Might be a good idea. Brian []
oobster Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I remember seeing some very graphic pictures of an 'SUV' in the states that skelped a deer - wasn't a pretty site. Welcome to the forum by the way [Y] Someone on here had a link to http://www.blowmedeer.co.uk/ in their signature panel and curiosity got the better of me - I thought i might be some interesting 'adult site' and it was a site that sells these deer whistles!
