billyboy Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Did any body see the bbc news at six tonight? It showed a poor classic Scoobie owner sittin on the roof of his car on his mobile for help. The water was over the doors and it had deployed the airbags.Poor guy.

st3ph3n Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Maybe he shouldn't have tried driving into the water?

boris b Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Yeah i saw it. Feel sorry for the people that have had their houses wrecked...Lots of them without flood cover either [:|] What are these people thinking about trying to drive through deep water..[:^)] Wouldn't be me.. On the other hand, if you get caught by a massive deluge of water approaching....Not a lot you can do
RA Dunk Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 seen that as well must be pretty sh!tty watching the water level rising around your door step and being helpless to do anything about it []
RS Grant Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I'd be gutted if it happened to me... feel sorry for those affected. Cheers, Grant
Alan-G Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 seen that as well must be pretty sh!tty watching the water level rising around your door step and being helpless to do anything about it [] Sorry to change the topic a bit, but worse than flood - is fire ! Our house caght fire the night our first baby was born. At that time I would have welcomed a flood to ease the flaming wreckage ... we were very lucky that it was contained to 1 room only. Flood damaged houses can be repaired, fire damaged ones are normally condemned buildings.
RA Dunk Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 ok so who all saw the fires in sheffield on the news tonight then []
colzo Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Really bad news all this flooding, the amount of rainfall in such a shot period is scary. A couple of boys from round my way died in the bad floods a few years back when a bridge collapsed from undernearth them and their car got washed away. Tragic.
oobster Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Looks like there is more to come later in the week too. Really sad watching the images on the news of people's homes, cars, property & businesses are ruined.
scoobzie Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 do u think he will sell me the car lol cheers scoobzie
thewelsho Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Really bad news all this flooding, the amount of rainfall in such a shot period is scary. A couple of boys from round my way died in the bad floods a few years back when a bridge collapsed from undernearth them and their car got washed away. Tragic.Yeah, I remember that, tragic. Shame for all these people, I do feel for them. If only they could read this thread; the lighthearted comments are funny and would maybe cheer them up at bit (Who saw the fires in Sheffield? HAHAHA!)
thefastone Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Well I was on the phone to my mate yesterday who Lives in Barnsley, and thankfully, the bit that he lives in , (Barnsley has been hit and Sheffield has been hit really bad) has not been affected, think his family are ok also... that was a relief!
