  1. Makes me wonder what else is wrong. This is the only one I've any kind of knowledge of and suspect it's a bit random to be a one off! Was quite looking forward to getting a copy for posterity. Think it's wrong to ask for 1086 free reprints?
  2. Following on from the earlier thread ... I was in Borders tonight ... reading books for free as you do. Page 194 of the 2010 edition says that the worlds largest mosaic of cars was formed on 7th March 2009 by a group of Subaru enthusiasts in Japan as a tribute to the Subaru heroes, including Colin McRae. Around 3,500 m2 and/or 339 cars (ish)(not a stickler for detail me). Not to detract from their admirable thunder, but by my estimation, this is somewhat less than that set last year which was probably more like 8000 m2 and 1086 (?) cars ... The comments at the bottom of this page says it all ... http://www.rallybuzz.com/subaru-largest-car-mosaic/ Well done to Scoobies in Japan ... but ... harrumph. Did someone forget to tick a box on the application form? Still got my limited editions print and some good memories ))
  3. Thanks. Probably going up the A9 and coming back down the A82 as I've never seen the monster !! I'm going up the A9 from Perth so I'll look into this as an alternate route I'm staying north of of Inverness so I'll defo check this one out. Sounds like my route back is sorted. Cheers. I've heard the road to Applecross is pretty special. As close to a Stelvio as we can get in Scotland. Thanks to all.
  4. Heading up to the Inverness Area for a week. Any suggestions for scenic driving routes / photo stops etc around North Scotland. Thanks in advance ...
  5. Sounds like its the same one. Paintjob was fairly distinctive (!).
  6. Parked up on Morrison St near Cuba Norte. It was a bit cloudy but the paint was one of those fancy pearlescent jobs that shimmers from bronze-green (I think, it was cloudy !!!). Apologies for the rubbish description. Hadn't seen a classic like this before, very distinctive.
  7. Couldn't help but look for the Fat Banana when I saw Tokyo Mater this morning ... http://home.disney.co.uk/characters/cars/
  8. Now telling myself it was a little lass or lad letting themselves out of mum or dads car. They wouldn't know any better. Don't feel as angry now.
  9. ... is finding all the dents and scratches from over the winter Some TWUNT has smacked into my door in a EK car park leaving a nice dent and scuff for me to pull out. Same thing happened to my father in Bothwell last year. Except a nice old woman left her contact details on his windshield and offered to pay for the repairs. If only that woman from Bothwell lived in EK ...
  10. Thanks for this. Heading off soon. I feel a before and after pic coming on.
  11. Thanks for that and the quick response. Off to the shops we go. Thanks.
  12. Any tips as to how to get my exhaust gleaming (Prodrive Backbox). Looks a bit dull and sooty after the wintery months. Thanks
  13. Can you ask if they'll do mine too, I'm only 5 months out of warranty.
  14. So, the consensus seems to be that my shocks are knacked. Whats the prognosis ... are they likely to fail? Are they dangerous?
  15. I suspect that there may be a wee problem with the car after driving around town in the last week (05 WRX). Been happening for months, but getting more noticeable. Symptom No.1 Drive away traffic lights, get stopped at the next set after a few hundred yards. Just as I'm about to put the h/brake on the back of the car feels like it dips a bit, there is quiet, but audible clonk from the driver side rear. Feels like the car just rolled into a hole in the road. (it didn't BTW). Symptom No.2 Reversing out of the driveway at home, press the brake in the street, hear a clunk from the rear. Not everytime, but enough to be noticable. The car had its 3 year service in September at which time I raised the spectre of shocolatt dampers but the car was given a clean bill of health. Both comments raised at the service. The rear passenger side damper was replaced under warranty two years ago. Warranty now expired Symptoms sound familiar to anyone? Any suggestions?
  16. Hmm, interesting suggestion Imy. I first noticed on Hogmanay on the way into Glasgow. Problem is, I refilled at Tesco on the way out. I'll look into that idea ... As mentioned in my previous post ... I'll keep my ear on it.
  17. Yeah, had a wee google search after Dipsy replied earlier. Sounds fairly commonplace !!! Problem is, how come, after 3 years, have I just noticed it !!! Maybe it is a gumming up thing. It was serviced a couple of months back, but I've only really been driving it in the last two weeks. I'll keep my ear on it. Thanks.
  18. Yep, all bolts through the rubber dampers (3 I think?)
  19. The pipe coming out the bottom looks like it just touches the bodywork as it bends away toward the engine, but other than being bolted to the bodywork, the solenoid itself doesn't look particularly untoward. ??
  20. OK, will check after lunch. Thanks.
  21. Anyone ever heard a constant tapping / clicking noise coming from what sounds to be behind the instrument panel (05 WRX). Can hear it from around 2-3k rpm, think it disappears when I dip the clutch. Drowned out by exhaust / radio before any suggests that as a solution. I heard something similar years ago in my fathers old car, turned out to be a faulty speedo cable. Hoping its not something more sinister. ????
  22. That was me on a flying trip to JSains for a loaf of bread for the kiddies lunch. All ways a pleasure help a fellow owner out on the road :-) I half expected that as a *555 *** owner, you would pop up on the WIY page ... didn't let me down !!! Cheers. Andy
  23. gets about. I think I saw it going along by glesga green this evening ... can't be many black hatch STis in glasgow starting with BL ???
  24. Barlow, Jason Barlow. Was wondering who the bloke from the telly was talking to Bovingdon. I'm rubbish with names me.
