Edinburgh-Chris replied to 2559B's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hi folks, can i join in on this cheeky little group buy? I work at Edinburgh park and easily meet to issue bucks! Best Regards, Chris Kirkland -
Thats a badboy buddy, i totally want one at some point in my life. Just Prior to buying my STi, i had a look at a 1966 Mk1 Mexico which was going for £2995 - Oranage with a big white strip up the side....... "OLD FORDS NEVER DIE" Good luck with the sale, i can't see it hanging around much longer. Best Regards, Chris

Hi People, Following the return of my car from SW-Racing with a new cold air induction kit installed, i now have the previous kit siting around doing nothing. It is 6 months old and looks brand new. I paid £230 for it but willing to accept £120 plus delivery. The order No. is VF069 and fits all Impreza's manufactured before August 1997. I have attached photo's just to let you see it's spot on. Cheers people, Chris

I am led to believe that there is 2 UK300 Impreza's currnetly being broken up at S&I Thompsons in Galashiels!! It might be worth a phone call as these will be rather cheap in comparison. there number is 01896 758 881 all the best, Chris

Dougster, Where does a REMAP fix the problem? I assumed the breaking part comes down to the increase and velocity of the air into the turbo via the MAF. With the cold feed its a case of ramming the air into the turbo and keeping it cold. Can't wait till next week to try it out though. Forgot to say mate, i got the side repeaters last week and slapped the bad boys on right away. Cheers mate, tomorrow morning see's a set of un-buyable black diamond race pads on my 4pots which i recieved on the free. They are ment to be EBC redstuff killers. Chris

My car is getting a cold air feed this week by SW-Racing. I will post pictures of it once installed. A know a couple of guys including one of the main guys at sw-racing aready runing one of these and the only problem incountered so far is OVERBOOST!!! I here the MAF sensors break for fun after an induction kit is installed. currently on your third one though scares me a tad, they aint cheap i believe. Chris

The unmarked BMW pulled me in the centre of town when i was in a company car. Apparently i looked a bit to young to be driving a 330d coupe BMW identical to theirs! I thought i recognised the registration plate Chris

Where are you based buddy? Chris

Thought i would put a photo of my classic on to join the gang! Here you go folks,

I have a set of 16" gold STI version 2 alloys with brand new Toyo T1-R's on them!! I have been trying to get shot of them for a while but no luck, currently being used for holding the local spiders and my boxing gloves! Give me a shout, i can drop them of if you are in the Edinburgh region. Chris

The Subaru of Andy will destroy all Skylines in sight, ten of the best will be his next year no problem. Al the best, Chris
-
Firstly, Well done Andy, thats an amazing time for the 1/4 mile that you have. I spoke with Steve and he mentioned that you could map my car when i get my Power FC. I have so so much time for Steve and Suart and only mentioned the fact that they manufactured the inlet manfold so that they can get things moving with there recently started company. All the best guys, lets keep the 1/4 mile subaru record in scotland for as long as it can, am sure everyone at SIDC in scotland is behind you! Best Regards, Chris

Not to sure mate, the guy was rebuilding P1 engines left right and centre last time i heard. I am sure he would have had a hand with it somewhere. I am planning on getting him to rebuild my engine after Christmas to make it bullet proof. The guy was making up some engines to sell on, last i heard.
-
The guy who made it up is based in south Edinburgh and is now offically starting his own buisness up making them for others. He has more knowledge of the Subaru that anybody else in the central blet and actually rebuilt most of Andy's engine bay. Stay tuned for SW Racing Co. Chris

Now your asking buddy...............thats a bloody good question!! From my knowledge, they are not digital so i guess no but hey, i have been caught out before! Generally i can get anything your car desires from the land of Japan, i all began with a best mate who fell madly in love with a japanese girl who's brother has a autoparts store within nothing but love for the UK..........an Allie in the War of Mods. Chris

Its up to you guys but if i can, i might pop along to the Edinburgh meet and find out if anyone is interested in a group buy. My mate can get absoloutly anything to do with Defi so don't worry about limited stock. I have already ordered the DIN mounted guages to sit under my stereo which looks sooo sooo good. I got them for £225 delivered. Spread the word and lets try and make it happen. Chris
-
I have a contact in Japan right now that can do the following: All Prices include Delivery and Tax (through customs with wedding gift stamped across it) Defi Controller II - £52.26 Defi New Age Impreza 3No. 60mm guagePod - £68.87 Defi 60mm Boost Gauge (BF Series, any variation) £106.65 Defi 60mm Exhaust Gas Temp (BF Series, any variation) £117.93 Defi 60mm Oil Pressure (BF Series, any variation) £117.93 By all accounts that beats any price offered up over here! Perhaps a group buy might make it even cheaper. Chris

I agree also, the whole point of owning a Impreza turbo is the amazing sound you get which so recognisable! Good luck with the headers and remember to get them wrapped before installing. Don't be shy with the metal clips and wrap itself, you don't want the hassle of redoing them while still on the car. (like me!!!) Chris
-
I was part of the scoobynet group buy on the Version 2 Gruppe-S Headers purchase. These units make such a difference to your performance and SOUND. I managed to get the Headers (wrapped by a friend) Up-pipe and downpipe delivered for £490 all in. I remember laying my gruppe-s headers next to a set of Roger Clark headers at JVS and poor old Robin payed almost £1200 for what looked like near identical units. The only problem i encountered with them was my car started over boosting due to the increased exhaust flow through the turbo! Well worth the purchase, Chris

I just went for petrol at Dreghorn and paid 99.9 pence a litre for opti-max!!!! I am beginning to think things are gonna get a whole lot worse befoer it gets better. Chris
-
Howdy people, can someone tell me where i can get a pair of PIAA fog lamp cover plates for my impreza as i have seen a couple of cars with these and they look rather sweet!!! I would like to retain my fog lamps so they look to be the ideal solution. Cheers, chris
-
FOA- anyone that knows where to get these
Edinburgh-Chris replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Howdy, Just came back into the ofice to realise the following comments with some bizarre look!! Where in Gods name did you get the feeling i was talking about people of SIDC??? The fact is, i have never purchased a single item for my car from a UK based parts company simply because their commission is extreme! Apologies for offering my favours up on helping someone out with a problem........ Cheers, Chris
