  1. JGM, check the "Sorry we couldn't make it" thread
  2. If the battery is five or so years old (and the original one) I'd probably try a new battery and if this goes flat get the rest checked. If its new then should charge up and hold it no probs. As you say yours isn't original its possible it isn't up to the task and this has killed it. I'd try a new battery, hope it isn't too expensive, and see what happens How old is the car?
  3. Afaik if the battery is dead it wont hold any charge for any length of time so car will start again shortly after a run, but if left for a day or two will be flat. If a battery is only ever half charged it then starts to believe that half charged is fully charged and you wont be able to get a proper full charge into it. Could also be alternator not providing charge for the battery or a relay in between the two not allowing the alternator to charge the battery. Cold weather also affects battery performance. Unfortunately when my battery has been dodgy the only thing I have been able to do is go for a long drive using highish revs to give it some charge Did Subaru assist check the system or just get it started? Normally go to halfords for my batteries
  4. Good news indeed. Hope the wrist and ribs sort themselves out soon.
  5. They're off!!!!!! Battery lives to fight another day
  6. Bo@#@ks. Cleaned car earlier, remember knocking the sidelight switch but didn't check to see if they were on.................
  7. im looking to spend around £5 a corner Best place I've found is RM tyres next to the vauxhall dealer (ish) near the Medway tunnel, Strood end, 01634 716336. Can get pretty much anything at a good price
  8. Loads of opinons on exhausts, probably best to pop along to a meet and have a listen to others cars (one at a time) As youve realised the temptation to mod is a strong one, and afaik a remap costs about £5-700. If you then add more mods, filter/IK, full decat etc a second remap would make the most of the second wave of mods. What I would say is the remap is probably going to be the most expensive mod so plan carefully and try to get that done when youve done everything else. Theres someone on here (Simon?) goes under the name of jolly green monster, who I think does remaps in the Kent area.
  9. Should be ok with the 20bhp, maybe 19 if it gets you into a lower band. If you talk to them sometimes they let slip what size bands they apply when working out price, eg, upto 10bhp, 11-20bhp,21-40bhp etc or they might work on percentages. With mine having a ppp fitted mines insured in the upto 20% bracket (258bhp) but on a recent rolling road hit 271, but should only be 245 (honest)???? Putting it down to it being a cold day
  10. Sorry to hear that mate. Not a good night for KS, what wth Pele as well. Hope they go easy on you, and everyone else take it easy, not that I'm superstitious or anything. Good luck
  11. Sorry to hear the news, hope everything gets sorted out asap
  12. Dark blue bugeye (I think) with morettes leaving A2 at tollgate yesterday
  13. Multiple scoobs up at hempstead valley. Both blue, newage, subaru sun visor stickers, one with roof scoop, one with mudflaps. Both very nice and much cleaner than mine!!!! Heading out with bucket and sponge now
  14. Agree with leon, mytyres a good site. If you're near the medway area, rm tyres near the medway tunnel seem to be able to get any type you want at good prices as well. 01634 716336. Usual suspects of toyo proxes, goodyear f1 etc... I've had proxes and avons on my last two cars, no probs to report
  15. Didn't mean to post then hit wrong button Afaik two sort of plugs available to you "6s" and "7s", cant remember which way round it goes but one is better for more modded engine, and the other for standard/mildly modded. Haven't heard of a plug increasing bhp, but if it helps the car to run better it will make the most of what you already have i.e if you have more power afterwards, you should have had it in the first place. If you are planning to uprate boost, remap , fmic on top of what you already have then I guess that would go in the more modded category My cambelt was changed by the previous owner at 31000 miles but at the 45000 mile service, best of both worlds
  16. 60000 mile sevice on mine was when I should have got all the fluids changed on mine, diif, gearbox, brakes etc so a bit bigger than normal. I've had conflicting views on the cambelt mileage but have been told for mine 45000, 90000 etc or every three years, that'll be about 3 months for me and the gearbox is playing up a bit too
  17. 2 sets on there at the minute
  18. Sorry to hear that mate, sometimes see foglights on ebay, or you could use it as an excuse to upgrade to driving lights PIAA at scoobyworld or P1 lights and surrounds at megamodz. Was it an anonymous scrapping of the rear wing and bumper or have you got their details?
  19. Working unfortunately
  20. Yep immobiliser cuts in automatically after about 30 secs if car not started. Doors may lock too if you unlock it but then don't touch the car for a bit (does with mine anyway) so careful where you leave the keys!!! With mine when the immobiliser has set itself, if you put the key in ignition and turn key so dash lights up, then press the button the red light flashes once and you can then start the car. Saves locking and unlocking each time. Hope you enjoy the car
  21. Thinking about trading up to a newer wrx myself, sti just a little out of my price range, plus running costs look higher too, brakes for one thing. Thinking about ppp but not 100% would certainly like a bit more than the 225bhp?. How much have you done to yours Granby, or is it top secrets Is it still reliable.
  22. Tried archery once Probably a good idea/safer if I'm not allowed to get my hands on a shotgun
  23. Must be the weather or something, my 5th gears makin some horrible noises at the minute What sort of prices you getting quoted for a rebuild on a 5spd, if you don't mind me asking i'm getting round the grand mark.
  24. Very sad. Thoughts to his family and friends
