Wrapped headders sounds like the way to go then, wish id known to wrap my up pipe when i was having that fitted. hindsight and all that Looks like ill be adding wrap to the very long list im writing. roll on the sale of my house. ta for the info lads. cheers willie
-
How many pennies for wrap then? Silly question but do i have to take the headers off to wrap them?? Cheers.
-
Thanks mate. im running a my jdm 95. The only worry i had abouttaking them off is i can imagine the nice hot headers getting quenched if i hit a puddle and that cant be good for the headers. ill have another go at the bending option but if that fails i might just pm you to maybe get your spare one off you. thanks again. i wish mine were wrapped !

The heat sheild for my headers has started to rattle again, ive had this before and just bent it a little to cure it. This time tho it wont go away. After reading the latest jap performance, the project phoenix was doing the same thing so they just removed it! So is it alright to just remove it entirely? Willie

pretty common what you describe, you have to remember that these ladys are highly skilled performers and to be laughed is not what they expected after the two day pole dancing class they attended. Now come on guys lets take this style of entertainment for the high brow thinking mans activity is clearly is !!!!!! Nipple biting.......tut tut

Whats the rough limit bhp wise if i stick with a hks panel filter?

Thanks for your thoughts mate. Good point about it being a bit late when the cars out being mapped. As for going above 350 bhp...i think id have to upgrade my talent at the wheel first so i think ill be leaving it at 350 should it actually get there in the first place. Am i right in thinking that you can chuck un apexi induction kit on with a power FC as you can tell it the kit type and it can adjust for the correct intake diameter? Im sure andy said something like that during mapping, and there is a menu within the commander which has a few apexi kits you can select. Id be tempted to stick on an apexi induction kit soon but if im maxing out my injectors at the moment i can see problems with even more air flow. thanks again drb5 roll on the house sale willie -
As above, in the next couple of months i am hoping to make a few quid from a house sale (fingers crossed). Im thinking of getting lager injectors( 550cc from andy F ) the fuel pump and reg upgrade also a larger top mount i/c This will of course be tied together with a power FC re-map ( andy f again ) but im wondering if my current hks panel filter will hold this up, or are panel filters in general able to flow enough air for 330-350 bhp?? I aready have a full de-cat with a HKS super dragger back box so think im ok-ish in the exhaust dept, apart from the fact that the dragger is a wee bit passed it and will be replaced soon. The car only made 270bhp and 245 ft a couple of months ago at dastek which was not bad but nearer 300 would have been nice. The commander recorded the injectors maxing out so i think with this overall spec i might see near the 350 bhp mark with a bit more fuel and mapping to suit. So will i be adding an induction kit to the mix or just a new filter?? any comments appreciated willie

Nice clip, if you did that every day tho you would not last a month.

hes a shat bag , saying that i was behind a car today and the plate must have been made on a dymo label maker !! are you going to just get a normal one now ? or temp fate ? Bummer mate
-
DS2500 on mine, very good so far. they start to bite loads better after the first few stamps at the start of a chosen B road then the usual two pot fade kick in and its time to back off.
-
worth bearing in mind that andy f was running 9.8`s with a power fc and it will only skin you £750 fitted and mapped by the man himself.!!!!! Bit of a bummer about the lack of active knock detection / correction tho. have you guessed that i own/ like apexi`s yet ??????
-
What about andy f and an a apexi power fc ? Or are they not available for your year of motor ? Tho ive read that there is not much to separate the apexi from the Ecutek. Happy hunting.

Bad news fee, there are a fair few shatbags floating round edinburgh. Im moving back into edinburgh myself in the next couple of months. Looks like ill be lowering the rev limiter on the apexi every evening then, not had to worry about this sort of stuff for a while. On the up side i will be living just round the corner from a cop shop but i doubt that would make much difference. Hope its not too pricy to fix.
-
no worries, get it on a rolling road soon as, just to make sure you are fueling well, and make sure you try a power run with the alternate map switch on cos it might fuel and boost just fine without the de-cat. cheers.
