I just ordered a pair of front and rear struts,they arived 2day, but stupidly i was not paying attention when i ordered them and ordered the wrong year, does anyone want to but them b4 i send them back i got them for 85 quid i will pass them on for the same. i live in clydebank. They will fit, 2000-2005 Subaru Impreza including STi, WRX, UK WRX, UK300, Wagon.
  3. i was trying to sell mine for four months mate, had no luck and only 2 or 3 time wasters for the whole period it was advertised for in autotrader amd ebay, the problem with ebay is people expect to get items for cheap and you dont want to part with a car where you will take a massive loss,i even resorted to agencies and still no luck, decided to keep it as its a stunning car. The car is off the road and wont be driven untill fixed, all test have been done and its either a burnt valve or a piston ring, either way the RHS cylinder head has to come off, i have 10 cars in my family at the moment and many in the past have been bought and sold, not one of them ever hits the garage they just screw u over parts my be fairly priced but the labour is just OTT, my pop and i do all our engine repairs and requirments with the cars. we have a good kitted out garage at home.

  6. was heading home from work oneday stoped at lights and there was no power car topped out at 65 and took a day and a week to get there,took off the turbo and stripped it down to find the brass bearings in the core wore away and inturn wore away the turbinre and compressor blades off the side of the aluminium and cast outer cases due to the extra play from the worn bearings, no real damage to outer housing, bought the centre section complete and balanced from AVS turbos in england for £430 inc vat.
  7. nope not stripped anything as yet, only the plugs and and leads trying the easy stuff 1st, yeah i mean the cylinders. I think the pressure test on No 2 cylinder says thats the main fault, but just need to take it stage by stage to find the exact fault within, the car i have had for a year, full service history, 77k, my98. was just about to bookin for a service when the turbo went 3 weeks ago and now this so service has had to wait, no other mod or engine work has been carried out while i have owned it apart from a back box and a dump valve and other cosmetic styling,the service will need to wait untill its running rite, the thing is that the warranty ran out just a matter of 5 weeks ago, kick in the balls i'll tell u, but thats the way these thing always happen.
  8. nah mate i dont work in faslane anymore so i aint down there that often, i live in duntocher, plus im having major prob's with the brief so its sorta off the road the now, see the stick valve post to see why.

After the useful help from u guys about my post on my stuttering impreza i had it down for a diagnostics at a mates garage in dumbarton, no fault codes what so ever were logged on the onboard com. However what he feel what was wrong was a sticky valve in one of the cylinders,after he took a suction test from the small air pipe from the manifold infront of the turbu unit. the instrument needle confirmed his thoughts as it jumped about and was not stable, so he sucked some forte injector cleaner straight into the pipe and the rest in the tank, and told me to rip the arse out the motor to try and free the valve, and to conduct a pressure test on the valves when i got home, which i done, Valves 1,3,4 were reading approx 160psi and 2 was less than 55psi, so there is my problem, i just hope a couple of days driving will free the valve, if not its a strip down job for me. Does any one have a link or diagrams for removing the cylinder heads, as ur prop aware there are no manuals about to buy???

  14. here is the dam car that im haveing all the problems with as my last post, just thought i would let u see my brief as im new to the forum.
  15. i have a turbo boost gauge fitted, that side seems to be fine. i have ordered new denso platinum sparkies and going to get new HT leads and start from there. going to take a meter reading from the coil to see if there is a fault as in lead to belive the coils on imprezas send to pulses at the same time to two diff plugs, so there has to be a suitable voltage to carry this out sucsesfully.
  16. yeah its fine when driving slow but as soon as i hit the fast pedal it all goes wrong, i have tried pulling the plug on the maf sensor when the engine ir running and the car stalls whicj im told should happen. I do think my self its the lambada and the fuel pump as it has been happening for a while put now its just so bad i cant put up with it anymore. i am going to get a friend at his garage to do a diagnostics check after the break if he will be soi kind. Oh and i am madmonks friend for all my sins.

I have a 98 Impreza 2000, i have had to replace the turbo but i am still getting sever problems with stuttering thru out the rev range, i tried sticking in a new set of platinum plugs and had to revert back to the old ones. Can enyone else sugest anything else as i am at my witts end with the wee chav racers in there corsa smoking my ass.
