Some of the Fenland Flat Four people are interested - is it OK for them to attend?

Dumb question, but how are those fitted?

Oi Kevin, I make the next meeting to be Tuesday 24th June. Does sound about right? Usual place?
M
-
I should be there.

There's no formal plan to eat there, but I know some people did last time. And the place is more geared to food than drink anyway.

Cambridge SIDC and Fenland Flat Fours meet.
Back by popular demand is the sort-of-annual meeting of the Cambridge chapter of the SIDC and the FFF, the Peterborough scoob club.
Date: Friday 30th May - note the different day of the week for Cambridge people.
Time: 7pm onwards - note the earlier time for both clubs.
Venue: The Three Horseshoes, Abbots Ripton. Same venue as last year.
In case that link dies, the address is:
Three Horseshoes
Moat Lane
Abbots Ripton
Huntingdon
Cambridgeshire
PE28 2PD
Last year we had 28 cars, so let's try to beat that. See you all there.

Thanks for the map - things are looking good for Tuesday.
Note the pub is on that map: it's the big building above the line marked "High Street" (which actually isn't) going up to the top right. You can't see the pub easily from the road, but it's behind the Green man.

I'll be there.

The only downside with them is they get really cold in the winter and really hot in the summer! But they look (IMHO) great and really feel good in the hand!
I'm with him:

they use a small battery that charges itself from the vehicle electrics
It's not that small.....
But yes, it has a battery pack.

Lots of people at work mentioned it - I slept right through it. All disappointed now...
M

Yep - that worked. Unless it was meant to be a film of naked dancing girls....

Table is now booked for 7pm. If anyone else wants to join us, please post here and also PM me - thanks.

Right folks, Kevin is going to be organising a standard drinks meet for the end of Feb, but...
Curry Night, Tuesday 4th March!!!
As before, the venue will be the Maharajah on Castle Hill in Cambridge. I'll book the table for 7pm to allow time for a reasonably leisurely meal. Parking is available in the public car park on Castle Hill (turn off the Histon Road side of the "Isaac Newton" pub on Castle Street, and we'll meet from 6:30pm onwards in the Castle Inn on Castle Street, partway down the hill.
To find the car park, note where the orange part of Castle Street changes to yellow just right of Mount Pleasant. The arrow pointing up just to the right of that is where you turn off at the Isaac Newton. Turn first left from there (looks like a dead end on the map)and follow the road around. The Castle Inn is roughly opposite Castle Row, to the right, and the Maharajah is on the junction of Castle Street with St Peter's Street.
Please list below if you are coming along, complete with any spouses, SOs etc. Cut'n'paste as usual.
I'll be there:

I been lookin at de catting the up pipe and down pipe on my car and ive been told different things ive told if de cat it i will need a re map as there is a sensor in them and then some one else has told me i dont need to. so is there any one on here that would tell which one is right.
thanks
The sensor is the lambda sensor, and AFAIK it's in the cat pipe, not the down pipe. You can certainly decat the up-pipe though. Won't give you any extra power though, just help spoolup. Decatting the downpipe will help though. Assuming I'm right about where the lambda sensor is (get under the car and look for a couple of wires coming out of the exhaust somewhere near the front) then no, you don't need a remap.

hi
what time does the meet usually finish
regards
Pez
When we get bored - typically around 21:30.

Look out for The Green Man opposite the Smarties - that's a clue
Just to amplify, the red Lion is actually next door to (and behind) the Green Man. The GM is visible from the road without any problems.

"Bonking" from the rear struts was a known issue on STIs from 01 to about 04, but I thought this problem had been sorted by 05. But I might be wrong. The problem is annoying (if that's what it is) but not damaging or dangerous.

I should be there.
M

Yep, I should be there too. Are people planning on eating there???
Dibs
Seems like a plan. If i actually remember to turn up - I keep forgetting this.

Final words:
The table is now booked for 8pm. For those who don't know it, the restaurant is:
The Maharajah
9-13 Castle Street
Cambridge
CB3 0AH
It is about halfway up Castle Hill.
Parking is available either on the area in front of Shire Hall (but that is often full), or better, the public car park on Castle Park. Turn off Castle Street at the Isaac Newton pub, then immediately left. Go to the end and then follow the road round to the right. Stick CB3 0RD into your satnavs/Google maps etc - that road it points to is Castle Park.
I would suggest meeting at the car park at about 7pm, then strolling down to the Castle Inn for some of the best proper beer in Cambridge.
July Meet - Tuesday 29th

I should be there.
