My M8 has owned a Scooby and a Evo 7 GSR in the last 2 years, he did have up untill last week a Golf GTI TDI, this in his opinion is the best comprimise between power and economy, ive been out in it alot with him and the handling is as good if not better than some scoobys I have driven, and as you say Wilky, the low down torque is awsome. On top of all that they are very safe solid and reliable, as he found out last week when sombody decided to slam the brakes on in front of him on a slip road about to join the motorway, he was picking up speed and doing about 55mph, he didnt have time to brake as there was no warning, so as he tryed to sweerve to avoid hiting the fiesta he cought it at a funny angle and pratically cut the car in half, he walked out without a scratch. Both cars are a wright off, but when as his insurance money comes through, he will be buying another one.

You nead more than an open cheque book to build a fast car, and you nead a fair bit of skill to take it down the strip on a timed run to its potential, so a fast cars not much use if you cant drive it. Id imagine most newage cars runing low 12s will have had similer moneys spent on them. Greg has maybe on ran one 12.399 with mostly 12.4s and a few 12.6 runs latly on a fooked cluthc, but he has done it and hats of to him id say[]

Kevametal and his new age may not be the quickest 1/4 mile time in scotland, There is Greg Green with his AWD MOTORSPORT devolped and Andy f mapped monster, which has run an 12.4 possible a 12.3 at crail, next time I talk with Greg ill find out what date/run no ect, im sure he used to post on hear if not ill encourage him to sign up and add his time to the list. Paddy[] There may be a few contenders waiting round the corner[]

Fantastic idea, this would be great to see as many scoobys from the sidc in one place at the same time, with maximun levels of entry for the 1/4 mile shoot out, Lots of potential here for a great day out for, SIDC, motorsport and tuning companys, and last but not least charity. But rather then be a quick christmas pocket liner for Crail raceway and co, It would probaly nead a bit more time to organize to make sure every one beniefits, charitys, sidc, ect only my thoughts! How about for the opening of racing for next season?

Is the car in question a fresh import and unregistered? have you had time to check it over mechanically?inspection of body work, ect, Any tax and mot? any history? have you had test a drive in it? What sort of condition are the brakes, tyres, clutch, I think to cap yourself to neading to spend 500 quid if neaded is a bit hasty, I would certainly keep an open mind with regards to amount to spend if neaded, well a lot more than £500 anyway. But at 3k just way up what will nead spent on it against what its worth on a private sale, to reach its money all the above I have mentioned will nead to be in tip top condition. Its your 3k, are you a gambling man? if so, buy it.

Im sure it is gleaming, dont laugh about the tooth brush, I have cleaned the engine bay in the past with that method, makes for a fine job[] The samco for the engine bay fill just detail it nicly and provide a bit extra protection, the brake lines will make quite a bit of difference also,

Superb news Brian, I had every confidence in the health check form Andy f, A testament to the skills and dedication of its previous owner in choosing the set up and fitment of modifications!!! with a wee hand from Dave at AWD[] As Andy says the car makes good power for its mods, it would be interesting to see what bhp it has, as this is somthing I never found out.
