On the plus side at least the poor scooby looks to have a half decent set of rims (if not much else!)

Probably be there as per usual! Maybe see some of you lot there

<< hi iqy, usually meet about 7.30-ish. did i see you at crail on sunday? >> Sounds good to me like. I dont think we had a chance to meet at Crail, i think partly due to the fact that i was keen to get in a lot of runs before i had to get back to public roads be a good boy again! Mine was the silver scooby with the carbon bonnet, maybe get a chance for some banter and a run down the racestrip some time soon.

Hey man nice looking motor, i remember seeing it parked up when i was in line at Crail on Sunday. I remember your alloys and thinking how nice they looked on the scooby! Sorry to see that Nova got the better of ya, he ended up getting the better of me by 0.06s according to the Crail website times ... so close!!

how to encourage even more people to SIDC
mazheriqbal_mohammed replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hey there folks, as you were looking for some feedback thought i would say my bit! Been a member of SIDC since a week after getting my scooby, the only reason i found out was because the previous owner of the car was a member and had left his stickers and old membership card lying about in the car at the time of purchase. Never saw too many adverts for SIDC prior to that, but maybe it was because i was a snob of an Integra type R owner and if it there was not a honda badge on it i was not interested : ) In practise from my own experience after driving about in a scooby i became fully aware that there seemed to be two types of owners a) the car enthusiast who takes much pride in driving there scooby and is likely to give the thumbs up when passing another owner folk getting from a to b who see it as just a work horse and nothing more than a pile of metal. Frankly i think it is a)'s that are the most likely candidates for SIDC membership. Aside from this as i mentioned earlier i have been a member for a year now and been displaying my SIDC logos in my car with pride, however in this time i have only ever had one guy come over and chat to me due to this (cheers jcscoob and hello if you read this)!! Either there are not so many folk that are members in Scotland or you are a well shy lot . I have to say i have not seen many scoobs out there displaying membership on the car, left them on my car so i could find more members out there but no joy yet! Finally i am not sure what most peoples inclinations are but mine are to get out and race my scooby in a nice legal and controlled environment (so avoid trouble from PC plod!). For me Crail is an excellent place to test out some new modification and also get the hard pounding racing some other nicely tuned scoobys (and other beastly cars!) i recon that is a prime place to pick up new members, i have missed most organised events (for which i apologise!!) but turn up to Crail without fail just for the racing! I have to say i personally feel less inclined to come to an event if i know i am not gonna get a little but of action out of my scooby, thats just the way i think i doubt everyone will share this view! Maybe this line of thinking is why many folk dont turn up to too some of the organised events, just a thought . How about setting up a wee stand at Crail when it is on to attact the racing types out there? -
Managed to get 13.7 today best time yet which i am well pleased with considering i only have decats put on a MY00 Classic Turbo 2000. Cant wait to get the remap done and see my silver baby fly Glad to hear other folk got beat by the beat of a Nova does not make feels so bad getting whooped by the classic chav mobile! Was chatting to the lad driving it and he had stripped it completely down to a base a frame an a whole lot of fibre glass, mental!!! But loved the number plate he had. Good racing against some of the AWD boys. So refreshing seeing Grants blatant disregard for his tyres hope you managed to have enough left to get home!!

Yeah those drifting boys are the buisness, got one of their vids called the 'drift bible' packed full of crazy drifting action almost made me want to trade the 4wd for rwd ....... nah! Clarkson really lets the show down i recon! He is so annoying and stuck-up plus he always seems to be the presenter of most things british and to do with cars, give me strength

<< Hope to have another centre diff in my car for Sunday.....then give it hell up the strip >> Nice One Andy good to hear you may be heading up, would be good to give you another run (Mine was the silver scooby with the carbon bonnet you saw in your rear view mirror . ) I will undoubtable be beaten to the ground again but was great seeing your monster scooby in action close up another time. Would like to chat with you about getting a remap done to the car if you are about at Crail and have a spare bit of time.

Yeah was a great day, so many cars to drool over and gain inspiration for the next mods (well if i had a spare 10K!). What about the Icelandic fella in that totally tuned to the max Impreza, the guy on the mic was saying it was a new world record for the Impreza getting below 10 seconds on the 1/4 mile (not sure if it is true but is very grin worthy ). Did any of you guys see it up close? Was wondering what on earth the large contraption was placed in the boot, and what all the lines and tiny canisters at the back were? Had a few pics i got of the day, including a couple cheeky pics of the Redline birds. Will drop a link to some as soon as i get them uploaded.

Hey Folks Will definately be making the journey up to crail, cant beat some good old racing action. I have to say i prefer the Crail Thrash as you get way more time to get some runs in, i think last time it took a mere ten minutes for another shot up the track compaired to the 3/4 of an hour wait when that Max Power event was on a few moons ago. Plus after all the spectating i did at that Ten of the Best IV Show i am dying to get the old baby out for a few 1/4 mile sprints. Mine is the silver scooby with the carbon bonnet and always up for a challenge if any of you want a run on Sunday Speakig of TOTB was gobsmacked seeing the Icelandic monster Impreza that got a sub ten second run!!! bring it on . Before i could only dream of a scooby that quick but now i live in hope!!

Looking nice, got a similar one on my scooby. I am such a fan of that jap style back box look and the H&S 5" beasts just unleash that glorious rumble of the scooby a treat. Heres to Phat Tail Pipes!!

Lightened Pulleys and flywheel - Pro's Cons
mazheriqbal_mohammed replied to mazheriqbal_mohammed's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Cheers for the Advice guys, may consider getting some of the pulleys installed some time soon as for the flywheel i think it may have to wait, quite suprising to find the compromise that you have to make for the use of a lightened flywheel when going uphill or at low revs. I guess that is the price you have to pay sometimes. << what sort of cost you lookin at for lightened pulleys mate if you dont mind me asking? >> Not sure was still shopping around but have seen them in the order of around £160, if you could offer me some thing better than that. -
is it a bird? is it a plane? no its AWD PULSAR.

Alright there dipsy how goes it The car has been running great with the downpipe, had a lot of fun on the ride back to Edinburgh . At the last Crail i managed to get a 13.8 which is my best yet and my average time was down by around half a second, not quite the one second drop i was promised by the AWD boys but still more than enough to keep this fella more than happy......for now . The sound now is amazing plus you can really here the turbo spooling up a treat, jobs a good un!!!! Did you managed to get that problem sorted with your motor? Hope its all sorted and your out burning up the road, nice meeting you aswell man see you out on the road. Iqy -
Lightened Pulleys and flywheel - Pro's Cons
mazheriqbal_mohammed posted a topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hey there all been pondering over what modifications route to take with my MY00 classic uk scooby. I was wanting to try and make my car as responsive as possible but without having to compromise the having the car lightened by interior stripped out etc. I had a few ideas given my limited knowledge of car tuning but am unsure whether i am going to see any noticeable gains. Firstly i got to thinking about the power transfers from within the engine and thought that is the pulleys and the flywheel are lightened on the engine then surely i should see more usable torque from the existing bhp of the engine. This i believe should be due to the engine requiring less energy to set the pulleys, etc into motion and so maximising all available power to the wheels. I get a mixed response from folk i have asked thus far and as i have yet to find anyone who has installed these part i am unsure if they would be effective in getting the desired effect. Has any one any advice or better yet actually tried out these lightened pulleys and/or a lightened flywheel? -

Well done on the 10.9, thats two ten second cars floating about starting to make me feel a little inadequate Saw daves pulsar when i was up a AWD last week, can i ask what inspired you to put the exhaust at the front of the car, is pretty mad im sure its probably for performance reasons but it well gives your car that unique look like!! . -
Hey thats not playing fair me thinks, i swear that when the government seems to be low on cash they try and devise new and more fendish ways to milk the money out of motorists!!! Here fingers crossed that they decide to scrap the idea.

Brought the title back to Scotland guys :)

Anyone going to TOTB qualifiers at Crail this sunday?
mazheriqbal_mohammed replied to colin_ross's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Alright there Guys Was cool meeting you JC Scoob, took your advice about checking out the forum good to find some other scooby drivers. Had a race against the 12.7 second beast!! Think i need one or two mods before i will attempt that again even with the suspected slipping clutch, but after a best of 13.98 am happy that my new exhaust from 4WD Motorsport knocked nearly half a second of my previous times. Hope i can get to meet some of the rest of you guys some time soon and give you a run for your money on the quarter mile (well maybe after a couple more grand on the engine!). Iqy
